It's ridiculous, isn't it. Was there a thread when a senior Labour politician attended a birthday party. No! Funny that. Maybe everyone missed it.

Dominic himself said the only reason he went there was to test his eyesight, so you saying that’s probably not the only reason is you admitting you think he’s lying, the media are intrusive and they do push to get their story, but that’s their job, there wouldn’t be a story and there wouldn’t be this intrusion if he hadn’t done what he did, you say you don’t like the media because they’re proven liars and hypocrites, yet you stand by a government that over the past week has proven that they are also probable liars and hypocrites, you think they should back off a bit because you don’t like them holding the people you voted for accountable

All politicians and people in the vicinity should be punished if they broke the rules, like every common person was, however, the people who helped create the very clear rules at the start of lockdown should be held to a higher standard as they’re the ones who control what everyone is supposed to do

1) Labour are not in power, and did not set the lockdown rules, so its a false equivalency. You can't counter every criticism of the active government twith "Yeah but what about Labour". Labour are not the government.

1.1) But yes any politician who can't stick with the rules that they expect the public to follow should step down.

2) Cummings actively knew he was unwell(!!), he shouldn't even have been out of his home! That was a clear and explicit part of the policy even BEFORE lockdown!

3) at this point it's not even about him breaking the rules, it's about the blatant lies and attempts to excuse and cover it up. Just totally ridiculous. People this openly disingenuous and untrustworthy shouldn't be running a hobby club let alone a country. And I'm not just talking about Cummings. And yes if Labour are going to be hypocrites, I'm talking about them too. Bin the lot of them.

That is YOUR opinon on the government, not mine,I don't think everything they do is right, but what do I know really about the ins and outs of what they have to do and decide on, it was pointed out earlier that DC eye test thing has been jumped on by the media as his sole intention for his drive to the castle when other things were an issue too,but no lets just all take the piss about the eye test, I don't agree with him doing that but that doesn't mean I want to see paps constantly on his back with a camera and jostling for thier exclusive at any price,do they ever learn,so my gripe is not so much to do with him per-se its to do with the press handling of people.

I don't think everyone was punished were they? there were far too many of them and way before the DC issue.

It’s not an opinion that they’ve had ministers come out over the past couple of days and they’ve lied to the public, that is an easily proven fact, he said himself that he wanted to do the drive to castle because his eyesight felt off and we wanted to see if he could drive, that’s not being misreported, being are discussing the very words that came out of his mouth, it’s not everyone else’s fault that he spouts utter drivel

Nothing grossly unfair at all. The fact they were unwell makes it worse and the lying and complete contempt he's shown for the public in the aftermath is disgusting and a complete **** you to all the people who died alone, the people who couldn't attend loved ones funerals and the people who have spent lockdown completely alone with no contact with family and friends.

People trying to gloss over this are as disgusting as he is.

It’s hilarious to me that for years people talked of “the cult of Corbyn”, and now without any self-awareness, and with the second highest death toll on earth, I’m seeing any criticism of the government met with “now’s not the time for politics”, “go Boris”, “they’re trying their best” etc all over the internet

That IS a ****ing cult, and they’re in power which makes it even more disturbing. Blind loyalty to a government is especially embarrassing

lets see where the death tolls are across the world this time next year and then compare them on a like for like basis rather than the stupid league table that has been posted every day and is totally misleading
