SEVEN-year-old Aiyana Jones was sleeping on the couch next to her grandmother in their Detroit, Michigan home when a SWAT team threw a flashbang through the window, which landed on her blanket. Seconds after Aiyana's blanket caught fire, the SWAT team stormed through the door, and mistakenly shot Aiyana through the neck, killing her.

The Officer who shot her, Joseph Weekley, said it was an accident and accused Jones of wrestling with his gun immediately as he entered the abode, causing the fatal shot.

The grandmother was arrested for no reason, and though she was quickly released it was not before she and two other family members – Aiyana’s parents – had been forced to sit in their child’s blood for hours.

“I’m laying there screaming, asking someone to help my granddaughter because he shot her in the head. And he wouldn’t even help her. They turned on the lights and saw that she had been shot.”


“She was only a baby, man. She was sleeping and I told you all ‘Let me get my granddaughter’, and you didn’t give me a chance. Why you do this to me?

“I get no sleep. I am sick. I am sick as hell. I get no sleep. The flashbacks. I wouldn’t wish this on nobody in the world. Not even you.”

The cop who shot her basically got away with it too because the judge disliked the little girls family and threw them out of court for crying in distress apparently.

I mean how dare the grandmother who held her dead granddaughter for hours in her arms while police raided her home instead of helping be angry?

How can a child who was asleep even be mistakenly seen as a threat? What was the grandmother even accused of for the knuckleheads to think shooting someone as soon as they walked in was appropriate?

They shot at the family through the windows seconds after throwing the flash bang at her, setting her blanket on fire.

Reading into it also there was police cam that 'went missing'.
