last saturday i had watched A Star is Born for first time


i loved the acting from Gaga in that, also loved the Chemistry between her and Bradley

overall i had enjoyed it a lot

Congrats to the #1 album in the UK it’s also the biggest debut of the years with 52k can only imagine how much she’d have done with proper promo and not in the middle of a global pandemic

It’s actually the highest debut week since Ari’s TU,N she even outdid Taylor’s Lover

I just wanted to say you are mistaken Douglass (as confirmed by the official charts company) and Chromatica did indeed outsells Lovers first week!

Gaga also claims the biggest opening week for a female artist album since Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next in February 2019.

They have made a mistake

Lover sold more than 53k and Chromatica sold less than 53k.
official charts company have confirmed Lover sold 53,015 and that Chromatica sold 52,907.

It sadly indeed did not.

Gaga’s sixth record lands at the summit with 53,000 chart sales – the biggest opening week for an album on the Official Chart in 2020 so far. It’s also the strongest comeback for the singer in some time, Chromatica smashes the first week tallies of her 2014 Tony Bennett duets album Cheek To Cheek, 2016’s Joanne and the cast recording of A Star Is Born from 2018.

Obviously it was very close, but clearly Gaga pipped her to the post, I doubt the OCC would make such a mistake

Lover did actually do better, it sold 53,015 copies in its first week to Chromatica’s 52,907. It’s much more likely the OCC would make a mistake in an article than the sale numbers they release

Still, 3 songs top 40 and a non-single going top 20 is so impressive and a massive step up from the success of last era
