great to hear you got the all clear, must be a bit nerve wracking waiting on the result, did you do a home test or go to a centre?

I went to a centre which was at Edgbaston Cricket ground (made it a bit more pleasant than some out of town Milton Keynes type industrial centre), but it's still a self test. You have to keep your windows up, and they hold cards up with the phone numbers, so you have to call them even though they're standing right outside the motor. Open the window a couple of inches so they push the kit through, talk you through it, then send you on to the next stage, and at this point I was the only person in there, so I had about 6 people round the car watching me wretch on the bud down my throat first of all, but the worst part is definitely up the nose trying to push it back as far as possible.

Then there's a test tube with some liquid in the bottom that you break the bottom part of the bud into, seal it up, then drop it off at the next station and I was out of there in less than 10 mins.

I thought they did it for you at the centres how do you know when you have pushed it up your nose far enough ..

They did have a sign up for administered testing but I've a feeling it might be for those who don't have my youth and vitality and would have problems. They just directed me through to the self testing, so that's the way I went. Actually makes sense, especially as peoples cars have a constant stream of crap flying around in them, so cutting down the contact here is the best thing.

You know, trust me.

NHS

Dear The Slim Reaper
Birth date – 24 March 1986

Your coronavirus test result is negative. You did not have the virus when the test was done.

If you feel well but someone you live with tests positive or you’ve been traced as a contact of someone who tested positive you must still self-isolate. Follow the guidance on 14 days self-isolation.

If you get symptoms of coronavirus, get tested and self-isolate for 10 days from when they start.

If you’re not a contact you may return to work if you’ve not had a fever for 48 hours and feel well. Talk to your employer first.

If you’re shielding, or this is for a care home resident, follow the guidance. If the care home resident still has symptoms they may need a repeat test.

If this result is for a child or staff member at school or nursery, tell the school or nursery.

Contact 111 if you need medical help. In an emergency, dial 999.

Scramble back from France lol, there were news teams at the Port and Le Shuttle last night and the expected gridlock had not arrived, then they suggested it might happen later that night...must make a story about plucky Brits having to end their holiday early and the devastation and mental trauma they are enduring
