4 weekly I'm ok unless something unexpected happens, it's hard to get in front. My lad gives me a bit of board now so that really helps, well it pays towards the extra council tax and petrol to work and stuff.

Was a tight budget for many years (and at times straight up dire) but these days - finally - we have excess income every month for savings / unexpected expenses / just buying nonsense that we don't really need.

Both of our credit ratings are ****ed for the next 2 or 3 years though, debts etc (and not paying them) hit their worst point in the 6 months or so just before our income dramatically improved... turns out it takes forever to repair a wrecked credit rating. Oh well.

Lots of good advice here on building your score, might pay to ditch the Mrs or vice versa (metophorically speaking depending who has the worse credit history if one or the other can apply for a mortgage on your own

Wait... people get paid monthly over there? This is news to me. It's like ALWAYS weekly around here (or bi-weekly if anything)

Anyway, my weekly paychecks usually last for that week - after $ put aside that I need for all my monthly payments bs - (with slightly extra $ leftover normally)... but I'm saving a little more of my paychecks since covid & doing pretty well financially in general, knock on wood
