Today Boris Johnson PM
was told off by the speaker for attacking the Labour Leader with a IRA event. Its live on BBC2HD SkyNewsHD Times DAB Radio Radio 5 BBCnewsHD BBC Parliament Time for a thread on this, as Johnson keeps getting angry. ['Take it back': Boris Johnson and Keir Starmer clash during ill-tempered PMQs Amid all the acrimony, the chancellor was no doubt sitting contemplating that one day it may be him answering the questions.] https://news.sky.com/story/take-it-b...-pmqs-12061820 Last edited by arista; 05-01-2022 at 09:40 AM. |

So he should have been
This has gone down the drain over recent years has PMQs. Under this truly awful PM, it's unbearable to watch now. He doesn't even TRY to answer anything. I'm glad he got pulled up for his ridiculous nonsense today. |

It wouldn't make any difference arista.
It's just now becoming tedious to listen to and watching is even worse. If he's not going to stick to the point and answer the questions put. Then no point in having this farce week after week. It should be scrapped. Might as well ask him questions on general.knowledge than anything of concern possibly to voters. To see the person elected and in the highest position of the land, is both embarrassing and insulting, the way he goes on. Even moreso on very serious issues. "It should be scrapped."
Yes some say that. But it gives Other MP's a chance to ask questions. So it will stay. |

PMQs these days must be so embarrassing for the Tories. Sir Kier is always shooting the proverbial fish in the barrel that is Boris, having him at the dispatch box shows BoJo's empty bluster for what it is.

Boris doesn't care about PMQ's, the whole thing is rehearsed before, each side gets a copy of the questions before they are asked. It's a show and nothing more.
Competence is no longer a requirement to get elected, the game has changed as Trump is showing in America |

In theory the PM shouldn't know the questions coming up. Although all his governmental departments will fully brief him on all subjects that may possibly come up with questions. Many times it's been said, that opposition leaders have surprised PMs, by what they asked and raised, plus also didn't as expected raise. If it's rehearsed beforehand then my goodness, it's an even worse shambles on the day. Plus the speaker is there to ensure proper parliamentary procedures are followed. So since rehearsal is not permitted, plus questions should not be known in advance. Then the speaker is failing miserably too. Failing parliament and the people too. No matter what however, it's a disgraceful display from any leader of a Country. Which I repeat is now insulting and increasingly embarrassing to even watch with this PM at all. In my view. |

It will be deceit, waffle and blatant lies from the PM.
With him thinking he should be asking the questions not being asked them for him to answer. A bigger waste of time in a political has never been until Johnson became PM. At least with May, you got to smile a little. With him, he just makes your blood boil. Why they even bother with his backbenchers all rushing in with supportive statements rather than strong questions too. Is another rotten element to PMQs now. Just a mess. It used to be a must watch for me. Now it's embarrassing to see the man in the office of Prime Minister, bringing said office down to the gutter. |

Oh for goodness sake.
Just answer the questions and not rant like a madman on a political speech. Truly awful and a disgraceful performance as usual then. Last edited by joeysteele; 09-09-2020 at 11:18 AM. |

Honestly for me.
If someone is waffling too long on a question, the speaker can tell them to get to the question. Surely he can equally, instruct as to questions to the PM, that said PM answers the question and sticks to the point/s raised in said question. This was really shocking to watch as usual. I doubt post war, the UK has been so ill served by its PM and government. Because the MPs of the governing party allow this insulting, embarrassing and farcical mess to continue. Sir Keir continues to be awesome, just imagine if he was the one leading the Opposition against a minority government! He could probably be de-facto PM.

Yet people will continue to blindly vote for Boris, amidst all of his incompetencies and meaningless blusters (of which there are many).

Hmm, perhaps not, polls showing voting intentions seem pretty close.
