Thumbs up BB7 still the best

It really just did everything right IMO, even all these years later. The cast of housemates were all just so damn well selected (apart from that cringeworthy little freak Glyn who should have been evicted instead of Bonnie), the twists were HUGE, Aisleyne was fierce and the dynamic with Sezer was so watchable. Maybe it just came at the right time for me. I was in year 9 which was such a good year, some other good **** happen that year, so possibly it's so nostalgic because of this and even the sense of fashion of the mid 2000's was the best and it's in full effect in BB7. I also love that this was before the really goofy editing started being implemented, so no music montages or out of sequence events. It's all edited and presented completely matter of fact and thus, retains the reality of the house instead of removing that by adding music and ****.

I know it gets a lot of love but it's all deserved.

"the cast of housemates were so well selected"... it literally had Glyn, Imogen, Mikey, Michael, Jonathan, Jennie, Jayne, Spiral, Lisa, Dawn, Bonnie and George.

As much as I liked some of the above names, they all sucked as housemates and BB7 really isn't anywhere near 5 or 6. I wouldn't even place it third, it's comfortably a worse series than 1, 3, 13 and 18 at least.

I also think Nikki is vastly overrated (and a pretty ghoulish person during BB7), Grace was a one-note bitch, and Pete being the obvious winner from the start removed any sense of it being an interesting competition. And all of this is without touching on the forum's incandescent hatred of Richard and Sezer, and yo-yoing opinions on Lea, Shahbaz and Susie.

I cannot think of a sole reason why BB7 is so beloved that isn't due to outside factors:
- Summer of 2006 was wonderful
- Peak Big Brother (and people becoming celebrities because of Big Brother), so therefore it was easy to talk about with friends
- And from a nostalgic point of view, because of some Nikki Grahame clips that we've all already seen 1000 times

I think a lot of people started watching with BB7. And everyone has fond memories of their first series.

It could simply be so loved because it was the year they moved the timeslot from 10pm to 9pm

It's a good series with the best female cast of them all (yes, better than 8) and some fantastic moments.

It lost it's way when BB rigged out Grace, turned the house peaceful for Pete by removing any opposition to him and then rigged out Nikki to keep in Jayne only to lose her a week later. It was a shambles and the beginning of the end. Add to that, the second half is very uninteresting with almost nothing happening in a six week period.

It did give me some of my favourite housemates - despite their flaws, I think Nikki, Lea and Grace were fantastic housemates who I could watch on loop. I loved Imogen and thought Aisleyne was often compelling, despite not liking her much in hindsight. Lisa and Jayne were fun and brought a much needed energy to the Pete, Susie and Richard house of sitting round banging drums and sunbathing.

On the other hand, Pete is a terrible winner who added nothing to the show and through BB's pretence of him being quirky and interesting, got him the win. It was dire, really. On tp of him you have a bottom ten housemate in bully Richard, tons of dullards and a poor runner up.

Good series but not the best. BB6 and BB5 basically do everything BB7 does but better.

A good series but regretfully i have to say it is one of the most overrated series of all time, like many have already mentioned above it was a bit of a production shambles and it was the first series that you can tell there was production meddling. I think ultimately it was the cast that saved it with one of the strongest female casts ever but it definitly could have been BB8 before BB8.

Nikki is quite overrated, i would never have her in my top 10/20

Pete as a winner was incredibly predictable

Even my favourite Aisleyne could be questionable at times.

But it is a good series though i find BB1,3,5,6 and 10 WAY more superior

Hell i would even be tempted to add 13 to that list

Hang the **** on a minute - you’re placing 18 above 7?

Watching the big brother 7 reunion and this series is actually sick.
So many housemates had mental health issues
So many were far too young.
The bitching and backstabbing was foul.
And the transphobia against Sam by the forum faves was disgusting. Poor thing is such a flighter.

I dont agree.
Everyone knew where they stood with everyone on BB6.

I think a lot of BB7 housemates had no idea how two faced some people were until they left the house.
