Take That's Howard Donald left 'fuming' after his son, 4, was refused haircut for not wearing a mask...


Take That singer Howard Donald has taken to social media to tell of being left “fuming” after a hairdresser refused to cut his 4-year-old son’s hair as he wasn’t wearing a mask.

The pop star urged people to “stand for our freedoms” saying the country is “turning into a scare mongering bulls*** regime”.

The 52-year-old told his 206,000 Twitter followers: “I’m fuming. Just taken my 4 year old to get his haircut and they refused unless he was wearing a mask!!!

“It’s 11 and above according to the rules. Yes covid is real especially when it comes to old and the vulnerable.

“But to make little kids wear masks is pure bulls*** just like the world which is turning into scare mongering bulls*** regime!

“Please don’t let the governments turn this into a “new normal” otherwise your kids kids will be asking u why didn’t you allow this crap and where did our freedoms go?

...I think with safety/feeling safe etc in the workplace...any ‘preventative’ actions have to also be decided between employers and employees as well...

..Howard feels that “The hairdresser in question obviously took the scare mongering to a whole new level which unfortunately is where society is going unless we stand for our freedoms back.”...well ‘fuming‘ on social media does nothing for his or his children’s ‘freedoms’...his freedom is there to go to or not go to that hairdresser if he chooses...fuming and ranting on social media etc..is a very part of and contributing to the ‘scaremongering‘ that he’s fuming about...

a shop owner has always had the right to refuse to serve whomever they wish, i see this is an example of this. As I've said in other threads, our freedoms are on a precipice at the moment, but that freedom cuts both ways

Out of respect for the hairdresser just do what they feel safest with or go elsewhere. For all he knows that hairdresser could finish work and go shopping for an elderly relative.

I am getting sick of people like him saying this is scaremongering too, he'll have been sat in his cushy house all the way through this while key workers care for people and watch them die day after day, not too arsed if his kid was asked to wear a mask for a few minutes. Knobhead.

at that young age - no mask needed.

The child didn't need a mask.
I personally feel while that's the rule, I doubt the science of transmission re children to adults.

So I think wiser not to go to a, or that hairdresser then if he feels so strongly of his child not wearing a facecovering for a short time.

My sympathies here lie, unsurprisingly then, more with the hairdresser.

Just go somewhere else then why start ranting and raving about it on Twitter? What is that going to do? It’s necessary for people/ businesses to take precautions at the moment and some are being more cautious than others which isn’t a bad thing at all. They are doing the most to protect themselves and the staff that work there and children can still carry the virus. Honestly it just sounds like he’s being selfish imo.

It's the business owner's choice but I do think it's a bit much to expect a 4 year old to sit sit still for a haircut while wearing a mask.

...so the feeling safe concerns wouldn’t apply to this, then..yeah, I can see that it would be difficult for that 4yr old...but we’re learning and children are leaning as well about safety for themselves and about safety and consideration for others and about ‘self discipline’ as well...we don’t know how long we will have to live with a virus with no vaccine/immunities etc...it could be far longer than we think so it’s important that children adapt as well in this ever adapting and changing world etc...and they’re also the most easily adaptable in so many ways.../...obviously that’s a generalisation ...but that’s what a hair salon would have to do/...generalise in their risk assessments...
