it's pretty obvious the way it's all heading. If the numbers don't come down within a couple of weeks, they will go back to the support bubble stage. I can see December/January being pretty much closed down and I think they need to look at schools opening over the summer and closing over the winter

British Airways passengers have told the BBC that they have been refused cash refunds for cancelled flights.

Gordon and Margaret Minto accepted vouchers instead after their flights to the United States were cancelled, the airline says.

"We were stunned... we looked at each other and said, 'we haven't asked for a voucher'. We haven't received one either", says Margaret.

BA said it will "always provide a refund if a customer is eligible".

But the Mintos from South Shields are among many holidaymakers who have found themselves in a stand-off with the airline after their flights were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The airline maintains they accepted vouchers, while they all say they never wanted vouchers at all.

...when they list the exemptions... are medical reasons for those...(...if they’re not obvious etc...)...going to be given as well...?... because that’s really important also, I think...it just prevents those inconsistencies that are often thought... and with inconsistency comes defiance because no sense of it is being made, etc...I mean, we all deserve to have our lives risk assessed and safeguarded..?...we do, our children do, our parents/grandparents do, our siblings do, our friends do and other friends of our friends and etc and etc...every life deserves that ...so when there are exemptions...it’s really important that medical explanations etc are explained really clearly../medical facts etc...and why those exemptions just HAD to be.../...that isn’t always done at all...

The problem with constantly changing rules is that people take less and less notice of them. I don't particularly blame the government for that, we have learnt more about the virus etc, and the infection rate is fluctuating region by region, but the simple fact is that any adult knows how best to protect themselves by now, and what the gains are to being cautious. The liberty issues are now becoming very important, because ever changing laws are being applied to the public on an almost weekly basis. That is not sustainable in a free society

...actually the simple fact is, bots...that not every adult does know how to protect themselves ...some very much need guidance and that’s the simple fact of it...and they need that guidance to be clearly explained, especially as many u-turns are made...and especially as it’s always ever evolving etc...I mean, if a child didn’t understand something and it was obvious that they didn’t understand because they weren’t following any understanding/guidance that others were...in a school environment for instance...?...I can’t think that anyone would find it acceptable with the thought process and actions of...well you should know, I shouldn’t need to clarify, now just get on with it, please and stop being so dependant...we absolutely can look to the government for reasons for their exemptions to be explained, for EVERYONE to understand and comply etc...we absolutely and totally can...we absolutely often don’t get those reasons though that can lead to such confusion, stepping closer to non compliance mind sets...

Next Time
tell the Pilot First.

[A man with serious breathing issues says he
was "ambushed" into wearing a face covering on a plane.
EasyJet has apologised after one of its pilots was filmed
threatening to remove the passenger from the flight.

The man was carrying an exemption card - but it was rejected
by the crew on his journey from Jersey to Gatwick.]

...I think that won’t happen either, Jake...because National lockdown gives less confusion so more compliance etc/type stuff...which wouldn’t leave the scope for fines and creating government income to happen so much.../...Ms Cynical of the day etc...be more transparent and less fines would apply...

The economic damage of the last one means that simply will not happen. Obviously I can't say 100% but I would be very, very surprised. At the very least, there's no way they're going to close down things like "non-essential" medical services like they did last time, because the knock on effect has been catastrophic already. Turns out there's really no such thing as a non essential medical service. Who would have guessed?

.....hmmmm, I haven’t read the story atm...but I guess that there are so many flaws with exemption card carrying and showing them..they might be considered to be something that could be copied very easily, so therefore, disregarded Any those they’re shown to/as appropriate...and also in an ‘ambush’ situation and huge hostility and/or aggression being faced, it doesn’t make it easy to show an exemption card ...when possibly having a ‘mind of chaos’ at that moment...

....I can’t imagine how exemption cards work in the USA or any country with armed police...‘I’m just popping my hand in my pocket for my exemption card, excuse me, officer’...

...’ oh, indeed not.../bang bang you’re dead...’...

...I really can’t gel with the ever visible Sunflower lanyards either...they could just add another layer of vulnerability to the already vulnerable...but we’ll see how much used they are and how effective etc...

I doubt we'll be learn very much at either.

PMQs is a disgrace with him.
It's a total waste of time.

I can't believe Hancock is almost blaming people seeking tests, for the failing and inadequate testing system.

As to the inconsistencies and endless confusion of the government's words, (I won't call it advice as true advice is what can be understood and followed), it will be no surprise I wholly agree with Ammi's comments.

The heads in the sand leaning to try to defend this incredible incompetent lot dealing with our care and health and lives, is sad to see.

If Hancock, although he's just the PMS poodle in this in part..
Had he been a Labour minister or of any other party in government, voters, myself at the front of the queue too, with the media would be day after day callng for and demanding his sacking,
The biggest call too from the Con party too.

This is one almighty mess, dealing with this hateful virus, of this PMs and his government's own making.
Because they won't work with others and it's clear they have very little as to a clue what clear advice to give.
Even after having this on their desks for near all this year.

Apparently Hancock has now refused to rule out another National lockdown.

Confusing, that's all you can say about this government.
