Right wingers love nothing more than using their national platforms to complain about being silenced

Who is this tw*t? And what does he have to say that is so important?

Its a shame that times like these give arseholes like him an opportunity to spout their bull*****

The right wing just loves to lean on the victim narrative, huh? It's utterly repugnant considering how many liberal voices have been snuffed out throughout history for standing for equality. I can't tolerate some entitled actor who torpedo'd his own career when people are literally dying for their civil rights.

Opinions have consequences, If you're going to be a racist then you have to accept that other people have the right to react to that and that means they don't have to employ some washed up actor who will no doubt find a fortune in being a mouthpiece for the far right.

There is very little diversity of opinion ON THIS PARTICULAR TOPIC and it doesn't take a genius to know why. Show business and the creative industries are really diverse industries so it's not surprising that they tend to accommodate left-wing stance more. People don't tend to speak up against people they have first-hand experience working with. After all, anyone who speaks up against the BLM movement is essentially speaking up against black people. The only ones comfortable enough to have such strong opinions are people with too limited exposure to ethnic minorities to be able to see them as human beings.

I'm not sure about, the film industry is constantly criticised for its lack of diversity both in race and also in gender and class. Arts and entertainment ranks in the five least diverse industries here:
https://www.thementormethod.com/sing...rse-Industries. That's why Fox strikes a chord with people who are suspicious of actors making token gestures and telling them how to think when they enjoy huge wealth and comfort and work in a sector which is much more problematic than most blue collar industries

Yeah, by no means at all do I think the arts and entertainment industry has come out smelling of roses on this issue, but I definitely feel as though there is far less wiggle-room in those industries to display hateful or derogatory behaviour towards someone for their race. As I said before, on this particular topic of the BLM movement I think we'll probably find the vast majority of people in the business are supportive of the movement and vocal about it as a result. Whether this is performative or self-serving we'll never TRULY know. However, all I'm saying is if Laurence Fox is gonna start getting precious over BLM because his poor white voice is being snubbed for once then he deserves to be reprimanded by his peers.

Fair enough, fwiw I do think he's been pretty crass and wilfully controversial on this so yeah he can't be too sensitive about the fallout

[Laurence Fox reveals he was phoned by cabal of actors
who threatened his career on loudspeaker
as they told him to 'change his tune' over Black Lives Matter]

[Lewis star Laurence Fox said he received
a 'very threatening' phone call from
an actor he'd worked with,
telling him to change his position on the BLM movement
He previously said he would refuse to 'take the knee' to
show solidarity with BLM,
adding that the gesture conjures
up 'master-servant' connotations]
Fox said: 'I was warned several times that,
unless I changed my tune,
it would have an effect on my career']

[In an interview yesterday, Fox said he
received a 'very threatening' phone
call from a former colleague for his
refusal to change his position towards
the BLM movement]

Denouncing racism isn’t political Arista, it’s the right thing to do.

The only people upset by the denouncing of racism, are racists

How is promoting black history month promoting 'Racial segregation and discrimination'? He needs to explain that, but he wont be able to. or he could simply stop pulling stupid phrases out of his arse.

there is no point ignoring that this is a pathetic piece of corporate virtue signalling by a grocer. its PR masquerading as concern - it cheapens any efforts to combat rACISM

and the UK is the most accepting and diverse country in the world - we are not the USA

bandwaggoning

just awful

Because white people are used to such privilege, that some of us decide it’s a bad thing when other races are treated as equal, for what it’s worth, I don’t even think he 100% believes what he says, I think he’s taking advantage of a certain demographic of hateful, bigoted flag wavers because his career has gone down the toilet quicker than last night Chinese, he’s a grifter, but he’s just as bad as the bigots by encouraging and thriving on it

This is gonna stick so he needs to decide if he's all in with this ideology. He wont be able to walk this back so his career is effectively over. No loss IMO.

His comment is extraordinarily ignorant and shows a clear misunderstand of the points he thinks he's trying to make. He needs to shut his stupid mouth no matter how much money he's making from it.
