Oh no, I'm English

They've just taken £40m off the table without any consultation. They're throwing money at their friends companies under the guise of PPE, but they're not anywhere close to funding the cities.
People have to stop voting tory.

There are more patients in hospital in Greater Manchester with Covid, than in entire SE and SW of the country ..that is astonishing

Remembering Kerry

Quote:
Not just by Burnham but all others in the region helping advise of the cost. He'd come down from 75 million. He moved.. This dictatorship we have in power now didn't. Except to remove their so called offer. An offer they likely KNEW couldn't be acceptable because it just wasn't enough. This is the man who authorised 1 million to put paint on an aeroplane. It's a disgrace. A form of what should be unacceptable dictatorship. Last edited by joeysteele; 20-10-2020 at 04:35 PM. |

I think Manchester was about 70% labour, ust like Liverpool, which is why they're not arsed. Same as regeneration money has been going into wealthy southern tory constituencies, not the ones that need it.

All hail the Moyesiah

Cases are now levelling off/decreasing amongst students/younger people at least so this may also be the case in older age groups in a few weeks time

Our numbers are shocking although some of the areas are reducing but they are too high. They have been reducing in some areas week on week and so hopefully that will continue. I imagine there may be some protests on the back of this though sadly.

The North East numbers are exponentially larger around the student districts, surprised it’s not similar in Manchester?
But maybe that’s why it’s been hush hush about us going into Tier 3... unless we are who Boris is lining up to punish next.

the 20 million is for track and trace ... the business support is in addition to that and will be proportionate to what other regions have received, which puts it at 60 million compared to liverpools 30 million. Burnham didn't accept the money so Boris obviously cant yet say what Manchester are getting exactly
Those are the facts |

Evil for wanting to protect the livelihood of his constituents? Ridiculous statement whilst Boris is carting billions to private companies that are fumbling track and trace. The lowest earners once again suffer from contemptuous tories.

I agree with some of the things but he was happily gambling on lives to blackmail Boris for the numbers he wanted Manchester should have been on lockdown weeks back as the hospitals are close to running out of beds

yup and then you'd need to set up some more of those temporary hospitals again (like in the first wave what they did with Nightingale)

Isn't it odd that when the govt were wasting 20 million on non existent or ineffective PPE that figure was nothing?...pin money. Now regions need that it's suddenly a massive investment in the north? :/

They've spaffed (to use a Borisism) over £3billion on PPE contracts, mostly to their friends on unconcontested awards. One company with only £46k in the bank was given a contract for nearly £200m.
