...this was always one of the big worries...how long ‘immunity’ would last for anyone who had previously infected...which means that ‘herd immunity’ would never be an option anyway...

netherlands: many scientists believe we need to go to a 4 week full lockdown, so closing stores, closing schools for that time, since they believe a partial lockdown what we are in now won't help a thing slowing the spread down

The uncertainty that is being generated across so many aspects of our lives by covid could ultimately be more damaging than the immediate health risk. Uncertainty leads to anxiety which directly affects mental health and that type of illness is not easily recovered from

Coronavirus infections are still rising across the UK, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

It estimates cases have risen by a quarter to more than 35,200 a day in England.

...I would say that it’s far too late on the clock for this to be thought about applying if it ever would have been, which I doubt...
Far too late, there are automated systems in pretty much every industry that will alter on Sunday morning regardless and would take much longer than a couple of days to reprogramme if changing the clocks was abolished.

Also, yes there's debate about doing away with daylight savings, but we're CURRENTLY in BST which is the "fake" time, if we were to abolish changing the clocks (which is often discussed), it would be BST that goes and we would be on GMT year round... Which is what we're switching to on Sunday...

I do get the argument for maintaining more daylight in the afternoon with everyone stuck at home - but it's not like it makes a huge difference. The UK has short days in winter and there's no way to avoid that... You don't get extra daylight by changing the clocks, you just get it at a different time. It's not like dawn is particularly early so we miss out. We get the daylight we get, more daylight in the afternoon just means less in the morning.

Really.... Covid can pass through your system and not be killed? That's worrying.

I don't think it's new information that raw sewage carries disease... There's a reason that disease was rife in cities before the invention of sanitation (there was poopoo and peepee all over the streets).
