he has huge support, he got more votes this election than any previous president, he improved his vote numbers over 2016 with people knowing exactly what he was like

We were just fortunate that Biden has managed to grab more votes this time

Depends on what the next administration motivation. Remember Trumps sarky tweet when Kamala Harris dropped out of the dem primary? She replied with ' See you in court Mr President'. I hope she's motivated to go after him as Vice President. This prick needs to stomped into the ground where the only choice for him is to leave the country. He likes to be litigious I hope every one reciprocates.

Like the rhyme of Nelly the Elephant.
The republican party being represented by an Elephant against the Democrats Donkey.

Well he can pack his trunk, say goodbye to the white House.
Then off he goes with a trumpety trump, trump trump, trump.

My Mum came up with that not me.
We are both really over the moon to see this awful man and awful President gone.

I wouldn't rule him out doing so however, after a reflective period I would doubt the Republican Party would really want to risk another load of controversy and nonsense such as he's brought in over his Presidency.

Also his shocking display during the counting process too.

In 4 years time, he's going to be 78.
Just older than Biden now.

I would like to think they wouldn't choose him as a Presidential candidate again for the Republican party.

I guess he could try as an Independent.
I just can't see it and hope I'm right.

No way does the World need this man in power in the USA again.
No way.

If Trump stood as an indy candidate all I could see him doing is splitting the Republican vote resulting in easier Dem wins.

I sort of agree with that Ammi - if America wants to repair its reputation on the world stage quickly, they should throw the book at him.

However the result would be even more civil unrest within The US itself.

And also I think he'll strike up deals before he's out of power. Or possibly leave the country and head to Russia?

But hey... If Putin really is on the way out of power on health grounds, maybe the New Putin will send him back as a Russia-Biden olive branch?

Biden has repeatedly said its time to unite the country etc etc, so if he were seen to be actively prosecuting Trump, it would go against that message. So, he has a very difficult line to navigate and I think Trump will benefit from that.

While its great that it looks like Trump is getting his eviction orders, the make up of the new cabinet is not going to bring Trump followers into the fold with likely candidates including Sanders and Warren. They have 60 million + voters that do not identify with the current Democratic party, that's why they turned to Trump in the first place. I havent heard one democrat say that they need to follow policies that are more inclusive and until they do that, they will likely just get mashed in 4 years time

Biden's first job what he intends to do is bring US back into the Paris climate treaty, and restore friendships with several european countries

basically undo the damage what Trump had created

and also he wants to listen to both sides, and create one United front which is also good since they are called the United States

I think the Real question is

what now for the Democrats?

obviously Biden is nothing more than a cardboard cut out operated by a bunch of fame hungry jackals waiting in the wings

who will emerge to admit they are pulling the strings?

This will be very interesting to see who pretends not to be in charge

...when he’s not in office, though ...or facing a future not in office and all of the power that the presidency brings....?....he won’t be seen in the same light of being a ‘deal maker’ because what he can offer has such massive limitations in comparison, obviously....deal maker becoming deal breaker without the power of the presidency on the negotiating table...

and the protection that comes from being president through his ability to steer the justice system will be gone. Also, twitter have been more leniant with him because he is president, he could quickly be banned if he tries to stir anything up after the president elect has been called

Yeah, currently the doj is representing him in the E. Jean Carrol case, so that’ll go away as soon as he’s out, he’ll have no level standing for protection or special treatment anymore and it’s why he’s trying so desperately to steal the election

...this is a pretty extensive library of sexual misconduct allegations...I don’t even know if this would be all of them but he surely should now become answerable....

To be fair I'm not really behind people being jailed for "white collar" type crime in general, shoving people behind bars for moving around figures on a screen when the jails are already overcrowded with people who are an actual danger to the public feels a bit pointless.
