Nicola Sturgeon has defended her government's handling of the pandemic as statistics show Scotland's Covid death rate rose higher than England's in recent weeks.

Figures show there were 50.5 deaths per million in Scotland in the week to 15 November, compared to 40.6 in England.

----------------

Maybe goddess Nicola isnt doing so well after all

Yes this was on Yesterday's Marr BBC1HD
at the end of the show.
She also did not like Marr
telling her, that Johnson Prime Minister
will prevent her referendum dream.
He will stand in her way.

Scotland peaked later, comparing the same week when the curves don't overlap is some seriously creative stats .

She's handled it far better overall in my view, and more compassionately too, particularly as to the losses of lives which sadly are higher in her Nation now at this precise moment in time, not all through.
She has also informed more clearly and kept doing so more regularly too.

Things have gone on a downturn in Scotland it seems over the last weeks.

I'd still trust Nicola Sturgeon more than our government or any wider UK party too.

I'd have at least felt more informed by Nicola Sturgeon all through and that's why I'd put my confidence in her still.

The North East of England and Scotland came later to the effects of the pandemic.
I think in the end, Nicola Sturgeon will be shown to have done her very best all through.
Marr likes to get at Female guests, he's usually very soft on an old pals act when he talks to Con Ministers.
It's why I don't watch him now.

Far from hammering Nicola Sturgeon though, she answered in her own states-person like manner, with her usual passion and compassion on the losses of lives..
A sharp contrast from Johnson and his henchmen and women.

I see this morning we have George Useless, ( a deliberate wrong spelling of his name there), doing the rounds today..
Another one who just waffles and gives no real even sensible answers.

(George Eustace, unbelievably smug and ignorant as usual then).

Care home deaths in Scotland are running at 47%
Care home deaths in England ...still far too high at 30% but if it the situations were reversed we would hear a lot more about it, that is how stupid politics is at the moment

Wales going back into tighter restrictions as cases are rising again

what a kick in the teeth to businesses who had to shut down during the firebreak

The last lockdown worked as well Arista, but once we reopen if people don't modify their behaviour we will be back in again in January, as we are seeing now in Wales just a few weeks after their firebreak

I think that is part of the problem, people thinking lockdown is the be all and end all when it isn't

The thing is we don't really know the actual death figures from covid.
Johnson has messed about with the reported actual death figures.

It's ludicrous if any of us had a loved one diagnosed with covid on November 1st.
However if they didn't die until today.
Then they wouldn't be included as a covid death on the UK government's ordered recording of deaths.
Scandalous.

So I don't trust the UK government figures on much of anything to be frank.

I better not mention my personal losses again but I know for sure who and which government I hold responsible for those losses.
There's only one deceitful candidate for that from me.

It's criminal at this stage, and it's only some areas that have a high infection rate, as well, so I don't know why they are applying a blanket approach
