Yeah, my only issue with it is that I don't see Chibs doing anything creative with it. It'll probably be left at "Yeah, that's kind of it". He has a lot of "moments" without much story around them.

Spoilers
Spoiler:

Revolution of the Daleks will also be the end of the road for ‘the fam’ as Bradley Walsh (Graham) and Tosin Cole (Ryan) depart the show. Both joined the show back in 2017 and have starred in series 11, 12 and the previous special Resolution. With the Daleks back, the Doctor locked away and the stakes higher than ever prepare to say some emotional goodbyes.

It's a shame to be losing Bradders, he's been the best thing about this run of Who...

I agree, he's a great actor and it will be a loss, but Yas has the most potential out of all of them I feel. I hope this isn't the end-end, and we might see him making guest appearances

Decent episode, some good callbacks.

John Bishop apparently joining the show for next season

The way Jack's story ended makes me think Torchwood might return?

Do you know what I really enjoyed it, kinda glad they didnt go for obvious exterminations of Graham and Ryan but glad to be rid of them. Hilarious they are replacing Graham with John Bishop playing John Bishop Jack was fantastic and loved the nods to Rose/Gwen. The continuity bugs me- like these ‘defense drones’ literally invaded earth multiple times! Also loved the new Dalek design but they were wiped out on the bridge so easily

Kinda ship The Doc/Yaz

Is that obvious? Doctor Who very rarely kills its main cast.

It was one of Chibnall's better episodes but also indicative of why his era of Doctor Who is mostly terrible, he cannot write and it's a mystery to me how he has a career doing just that.

His characters are not organic and he writes them as functions for the plot. Ryan's character is the worst offender for this since he has no personality and he's often just there for plot convenience. He also breaks a golden rule in that characters serve the plot when really the character has to work around the characters. Characters regularly do dumb things to service the plot.

He's also really bad at dialogue, like, this is Secondary School creative writing level of bad.

It's a shame that Jodie Whitaker is being wasted on such boring and uncreative material.

There was a fair amount of showing not telling going on.

Why did they give Ryan extended scenes where he was meant to show emotion? Watching that poor bloke floundering around trying to act was just embarrassing...

It was awesome to see Captain Jack again, though he seemed to just randomly disappear!

The trailer thing got me all excited, I thought John Bishop was gonna be the next Doc That'd be awesome in a weird way, but I'm sure he'll be good as "the new Bradley" character.

Arista they’ve been able to fly since at least the start of the reboot in 2005, this is nothing new.

They even flew in a story from before the old run ended!

Doc Seven saw a Dalek in a basement, and almost exasperatedly ran up a flight of stairs, and the cliffhanger ending was it started to fly up to follow him.

It's the opposite way around really, Chibnall relies too much on obvious signposting and exposition. Showing, not telling would be an improvement.

A lot of his writing really feels like he writes a first draft and then signs off on it. A first draft lacks detail, characters can be more like outlines of what they should be rather than embodying things like that and you put details and layers to the writing in subsequent drafts. It's just.... very childish, lazy writing.

Yeah, Toisin Cole is a woeful actor, not like anyone would be able to do much with the material he was given but he always sounded like he was reading from an autocue.
