A warning for Christmas ....

In Philadelphia, a woman in her 20s gathered with 10 relatives on Thanksgiving, though she didn’t feel well the day before. She later tested positive for COVID-19. Her family started developing symptoms, and seven members tested positive, said Dr. Thomas Farley, Philadelphia’s health commissioner

I wonder how many people will actually have large gatherings? I am sticking with my support bubble.....we have come this far and managed to stay virus free so don't want to risk it. Most people o have spoken to are doing the same.

How bloody selfish of her to go ahead with the gathering when she felt unwell, putting her kin at risk :/

This is my fear which is why we are choosing to spend Christmas in our own house on our own for the first time in 22 years.

Even our first minister has said she wont spend Christmas with her family due to the risk and the TV ads we have running with the covid Christmas rules also state just because you CAN spend time with others doesnt mean you should etc

I honestly think January is going to be a **** show

i'm not worried regarding christmas and the cases surge from that

what you think about new years day, and all those new years wishes, i think some people might forget rules then, and give those kisses, hugs anyway, its best not to do that now

My view too.

I have to protect my Mum too.
So it will remain only my Mum, myself and a cousin who shares my home with me.

No way am I even remotely going to risk undoing all we've kept in place this year so far.

To see a few more people this Christmas for a possible result of risking one of us not here for next Christmas.
Just no contest there for me.

I know that's hard for my much older Brothers,my Mum's grandchildren and great grandchildren.
However, even my Mum still has fears of this virus so wants no risks either..
Especially after losing her Sister earlier this year to covid.

That brings the message home in a devastating way.

[South Korea
has had a Surge, the leader has called it an Emergency infection
Like one Religious Building had 90 infected.
They have set up Shipping Containers to do fast testing.]

Mexico
Art with Me Party (Nov 2020)
was full of Americans
and just one Mexican spread it to all of them (No Masks)
who then took it home to America.

Ref:CNN Live.

well South Korea hasn't had that many cases in a long time, and also religious buildings should be closed, just silly how they want to remain open for many people (when you know indoors, risk of spreading the virus is highest)

that is why their president, whenever they got public events, they did most of them outdoors and in summer, everyone could sit in the fresh air, with masks kept on all the time (only those speaking on stage mask off during that moment)

Mexico's i saw this morning a report of that party on CNN

kinda stupid to let that go on, if it was amid first wave ok, a accidental mistake, but we're amid second wave, everyone should be well aware now of the dangers of covid, and they did let it go on and not cancelled it

some good news, Mexico Authorized Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine now too, ready for vaccinations, and by april if it goes well, millions could be vaccinated there

I hope that the psychology is because people can, they wont, I think if families were barred from meeting then they most definately would rebel, but because they can hopefully many will have a good think about the risks for essentially a roast dinner and a few party games

Netherlands: tomorrow a urgent corona-meeting about the surge of new cases now

and it is expected upcoming tuesday another press conference from our PM Rutte and Health minister De Jonge

also our health minister has withdrawn as party leader of CDA, since he doesn't want to combine his duties of that and health minister, and his duties as health minister are more important now than ever

The usual suspects who haven’t made any effort to abide by any of the rules or regulations since March will just carry on regardless

people should be more mindful when it's their own family they are putting at risk. I think it will be more the ones saying i haven't seen so and so for a year etc, so it will be a different group

I think we'll likely have another short lockdown in January. People will be dumb over Christmas and act like it's all over when it's far from over.
