Default Coronavirus Outbreak (Tier 4 midnight Saturday) London & Parts of the south

So ‘they’ knew about this new variant in mid September and that it was in Kent / London !?!

Why on Earth didn’t they put the offending area into full lockdown or at least some kind of containment?!?!?
Chris Whitty looks very anxious/nervous tonight ... trembling voice .. practically begging people not to travel out of Kent /London now as the risk of them spreading the new variant all over the country !!

Why don’t they put a complete block on travelling OUT of the offending area ?!?!?

Let's be realistic, the new strain has already gone further than the south, if there are cases in Scotland

Because people bend over backwards to defend the Tories from any blame.

They had all the details for months, they could have done so much more to make a difference yet Tory supporters will blame anyone but their beloved Boris.

Exactly...I feel for the hospitality industry, they have been royally screwed over. The gov championed the eat out to help out stuff.....then blamed them for the spike.

You have stated only solid truth there Dezzy.

Loyalty is all well and good when it's earned and warranted.
Not in this situation.
Yet, they'll roll out defending what I believe is a totally inept and utterly hopeless PM and government.

This government is putting in danger people and their lives, not protecting them.

The delays they create, bringing about more danger too.

The thing I fear is that, if Boris gets forced out, we'd have Rees-Mogg as PM, who'd manage to be even worse.

70% more virulent and they’ve known about it since mid September !!

You wonder why I’m a tad pessimistic about the Covid situation ... it doesn’t seem 5 minutes ago since the first vaccine was administered and everyone and his uncle was practically ready to party ...

Not on here, everyone knew it would be Easter before there was any return to tentative normality, that wasn’t going to happen at the first jab

Yep and it was proven that in areas with a high uptake of eat out to help out there case covid spiking of some 17%!

Not to mention the poor kids and student who literally are human guinea pigs in all this, go to school ..lock them up in halls, let them out for freshers, lock them up again, let them back to uni then send them home!

Like I've said this had to have been planned, you couldn't make it up!
