I was surprised to see a supernatural element to this film. It was something I just wasn’t expecting (I never bothered to read the premise before I watched it) but the acting was amazing, Michael Clark Duncan did an awesome job.

A classic. One of the two great prison movies of the 1990s directed by Frank Darabont. The other being "Shawshank Redemption"

Any good ol' suggestions that I can make her watch? We've done Ghostbusters, the Jurassic Park series, Edward Scissor Hands and Beetlejuice etc. and probably others I'm not remembering but those are examples of "the sort of thing" I'm getting her to watch
The Princess Bride
The Outsiders
Point Break
Dead Poets Society
Awakenings
Groundhog Day
My Cousin Vinny
Crimes and Misdemeanors
Miller's Crossing
Rain Man
Father of the Bride
Cable Guy
Wayne's World
My Left Foot
Drop dead Fred
Adventures in Babysitting
The Catholic boys (also known as "Heaven help us")

Knives Out (2019)

I've been meaning to watch this film for a long time, finally watched it last night and it didn't disappoint. What a film! Everything about it was incredible! The cast were all amazing, everyone played their part well, but it was Chris Evans, Ana de Armas and especially Daniel Craig who were the standouts. Craig was hilarious. For an actor who rarely does comedy films, he was brilliant as the private eye on the case. The twist was brilliantly executed.

Easily one of the best films from last year.

9/10.

...I loved that movie also, Tony......

...Wild Rose......some people are born to the wrong body but Rose-Lynn was born to the wrong place...a Nashville girl in her soul or a Glasgow girl in her heart...?...Jessie Buckley is just stunning and Julie Walters is pretty amazing as well...quite a gritty story but so uplifting also...a wonderful 9/10...

...The Upside...... The Intouchables is probably in my top 10 of favourite movies of all time, so I thought The Upside might be a good call and Brian Cranston is a lovely actor...but for me, it didn’t have the heart and soul of the original French version...I just didn’t feel the connection in the same way and it’s a story where connection is totally everything, that is the whole soul of it...

..it’s still a beautiful true life story, but for anyone who wanted to just watch one version, the Intouchables is the one, absolutely.....

...The Upside...6.5/10...

...Uncle Frank...an absorbing but quite a difficult/painful watch of 70’s LGBT and of small town family life and relationships...two actors that I wasn’t familiar with...Sophia Lillis and Peter Macdussi, wonderfully cast ......

...7/10, I think...

Antebellum - 4/10

Boring af with a stupid twist. It's like the worst M Night Shyamalan film ever made, but it just happened to be made by someone else, who probably watched The Village and thought "I can make this film even worse!"

A great and entertaining thriller/slasher flick.

I watched Sonic the Hedgehog. It was alright. My main issue was trying to work out why the small-town cop would go on the run from the government with Sonic. It wasn't that plausible.
