Well that’s what was mentioned ... they are clearly expecting the worst in the coming weeks and a huge increase in infections equates to huge numbers of deaths .. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I haven't followed the stats as closely are as many dying as a proportion as there were in april/may?
I thought the new strains were more infectious but less deadly?

TalkSport just reported that a German hospital has had to dispose of tens of THOUSANDS of vaccines due to them not being kept at a low enough temperature ..
I was slighted when I mentioned my concerns weeks ago that I had doubts that the vaccines would all go smoothly - as mistakes happen .. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

they are going to have to do a really strict national lockdown to reduce the pressure on the nhs. We still have 2 or 3 weeks before the Christmas mingling has an affect

I agree....the main thing being they need to keep schools closed this time for a couple of weeks considering they have found out this spreads even easier in children. Its not ideal but given we are so close with the vaccines now, they need to just keep us in like in March for a couple of weeks to really give it time to drive the infections down again then the immunisation programme can ne most effective

especially now with the more contagious new strain we need to act before it is too late, as for the vaccines going way too slow here in my country ugh, all because we don't want to disappoint that french company

With this Oxford Jab set to roll out next week they are predicting around 15m people will have the vaccine by March which would suggest we are almost out of the woods and we will probaly have another 1 month lockdown in between

Dunno how it could be any stricter here. No travel between counties, non-essential retail closed (thankfully no dumb **** like taping off areas of supermarkets), work from home, and schools closed until the 18th at least(I thi k into February is more likely). Unless they start a "don't leave your homes for any reason" policy.

Sadly THEY make a lot of predictions... I saw something last week suggesting that only about 5% of ‘those’ promised laptops ever made it to the schools /colleges Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

The oxford vaccine leaves a 40% chance you will catch covid, therefore it only becomes effective when the majority of the world is vaccinated, and that isnt going to happen any time soon

Don’t see why not, the Oxford vaccine would be similar to a flu jab roll out and that takes about 2/3 months for 25 million
