Sky News now Laura Duffell a nurse at a London hospital She opened with ‘ it’s absolutely horrific ! ‘ “ dread and fear .. would sum things up “ “ some hospitals running out of oxygen due to extremely high demands “ She also questioned Matt Hancock’s claim that the Nightingales are standing ready ... because as far as she understand things they have been dismantled . She then said that he should stand by his claim as we need those Nightingales up and running NOW ! But she also questions that there are enough people to staff them given there aren’t even enough to staff the existing hospitals safely Very enlightening .. Yes it would mean building/fitting the inside all again. Unless he says such a thing..................... He is wrong. Last edited by arista; 30-12-2020 at 01:04 PM. |

You don't need to be in the shaDow cabinet to have a vote. I'm sue he's not the only one to think this tier system is flawed.. we need to lock down again properly like we did earlier in the year until we've had the vaccine. It's been the only thing that's stopped covid in its tracks.

Yeah lancaster has also been placed into tier 4 even though our cases are very low. Surrounding areas are high but they seem to drag everyone into it anyway

West Midlands is in Tier 4 as well.
I've had enough of these half measures. The virus is out of control and the tiers are not working. Close the school, and take another look at what is considered an essential shop because places like Home Bargains, Wilko and B&M have thrived during the first lockdown because everyone was out in force buying non-essentials from them. Shops that remain open should block off non-essentials. The places I mentioned above should remain open only for medics, cleaning supplies, pet supplies, food, clothing, kitchen essentials (rope off the non-essential kitchen stuff), Essential DIY stuff (Paint and wallpaper is not essential) and personal hygiene products etc. Gardening, toy sections, home living sections, potentially stationary sections beyond the bare essentials and such should be roped off entirely. People will keep going out to buy cushions and throws they don't need just for the sake of it if they are offered in these places. I think they also need to do what Spain did originally and limit the time shops are open. Have them on a rota system, essentially, have some shops open some days, and then close them so other shops can open etc. |
