I still believe that he’s a good guy doing his level best .. I do wonder if the people under him are up to the job though ..

That said the same would apply if Labour were in charge

I work in a decent sized high school ( 1,300 pupils) and just got an email saying that nothing has been decided but we should know something in a couple of days ( Friday ) .

the current cabinet doesn't have enough diversity of opinion and the strength to have their voice heard. This primarily driven by the desire to have brexit fanatics in the cabinet rather than the best people for the jobs. With Brexit done and dusted, it's time to open up the cabinet again

Hmmm tbf you cant really deny he faffs about too much/long with difficult decisions, take Ireland for comparison they have just came straight out and said entire country back into highest restrictions for at least a month, no hesitation no ****ing about just get it done, even Nicola who I think has done really well for Scotland through is dragging her feet a bit atm with decisions about tighter restrictions and school closures etc

The school question is a tough one because of how disproportionately it affects vulnerable children. It's not really something that can be ignored.

We've already made the decision that ours won't be going back on the 18th, and are going to play it by ear after that. They won't be going back until the current situation is clearly under control. But I am - as always - very aware that we're privileged to be able to make that decision as I can work from home indefinitely. We're actually even better placed to make that decision than in the first lockdown (my wife is in a new job, more money, and can work from home the vast majority of the time).

But there are a lot of kids who will fall through the cracks very quickly if they're not under the supervision of a school. That's the very sad reality of the school situation. It would be lovely if we lived in a world full of responsible parents who are equipped (financially, economically, intellectually if I'm going to be brutally honest) but we simply do not.

Which they haven't.
Which this totally inept PM knows very well but hasn't really done a thing about.

Are your kids happy with not going back? I considered keeping my son at home but he begged to go back. Also, during one of his last isolations they were due back in school the day before they broke for half term and a number of parents didn't send their kids back....and got a call from the welfare officer about unauthorised absences..
