Legalise sex work and and then you can regulate it. Rather than exploitative situations like the ones found on the sites mentioned, you could put safeguarding measures in place to help prevent exploitation, or at least put a sizable dent in it in comparison to now.

No not in the UK.

The best way to stop predators is to bring it into the light and regulate prostitution so that pimps and predators can't prosper. When it's in the shadows, such abuse is allowed to proceed unchecked.

Make it legal, add checks and guards to ensure that prostitutes are acting of their own volition and that they can get benefits of employment that can help shield them from abuse.

It wouldn't stop exploitation or the spread of disease, who would regulate that industry and how?

There would be undoubtedly less abuse if it was legal and under scrutiny than things are now where abuse is completely rampant. It wouldn't stop it dead, obviously but life would likely improve for many prositutes if power didn't rest with their abusers.

Like in most industries, a regulatory body would be formed and you could apply the same preventative measure for disease that they have in the porn industry but make it even more rigid considering it would be a.... service... open to the public.

Regular health checks for workers, a bill of clean health for customers, no barebacking etc.

You can't say that with any certainty, prostitution is a product of a myriad of societal issues, poverty, abuse, neglect, poor education, drug and alcohol use.
It's not something that can be neatly packaged, it could never be regulated in the traditional sense.

The best way id say would be to have it 'managed' from within, tolerance zones, confidential testing/advice/counselling.
There are more outreach for prostitutes now and that's great, many are ex prostitutes, that should be encouraged and supported more than anything.

The issue that needs urgent government intervention is trafficking and predatory rings.

In places where weed is legalised, people tend to opt to buy it through the official channels, thus eating into the profits of criminal elements. When you legalise and regulate something, when it becomes a legitimate business run by non-criminals, you do wonders for forcing the criminal elements out.

You'd get more prostitutes out of the game by legalising and legitimising prostitution then you would through most other methods. The quickest way to take control of something is to legalise it.

I'm not saying it's a neat little problem that can be solved and wrapped up with a neat little bow but you can't really deny that legalising it and regulating it would weaken pimps and smugglers in this country.

Well it hasn't done places like Thailand much harm.

If anything it's a great tourist spot for some of the Leicester players.
