Think these are last Sunday’s stats .. says 10th Jan anyways .. Infections down massively on the week but sadly as expected huge ( weekly) increases of around 25% for the other three key stats . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Last edited by Zizu; 17-01-2021 at 04:38 PM. |

Seems a bit early to be talking about lifting the lockdown in March, this new strain needs more caution or we're gonna end up back where we were last month

I just worry that we seemed to be just managing the original strain for 9 or 10 months now suddenly we have the UK , SA and two Brazilian ones all mutating slightly and all in the space of a few weeks . I worry things are gonna get far worse for some time ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

If we go out of lockdown too early, we'll only head back into it a couple of months or a few weeks later.
Sadly though, I think the lockdown will break down rapidly soon enough, people seemed to be paying heed to it at first but now... People just don't seem to care, but then this happened with the other lockdowns too. |

The right decision, schools around here were going down left right and centre with classes and sometimes whole years being sent home before Christmas. It's just not safe, schools should remain closed for as long as needs be.

Actually, I have to, to be fair say I'm impressed with Hancock in this press conference.
I liked his heartfelt and I believe it was, comments on the losses of lives. So to be fair, I'm finding what he says interesting. I've always kind of liked Matt Hancock. Maybe he has had an enlightening moment but he's done a good press conference here. |

Hugh Pym from the BBC alludes to reports of regional variations in the vaccine and asks: what do you say to local teams who say they can't get a hold of enough doses? Matt Hancock says: "You're right, there are parts of the country that have made significant progress and gone a bit faster than the average - what we are doing now is making sure that whilst they will be able to move into the next group , we are prioritising the supply of the vaccine into those parts of the country that need to complete the over 80s but we don't want to stop the areas that have effectively done that job already." "The critical thing is that everyone can get it," he says, adding: "The NHS has been able to deliver the amount of supply that we have."] https://news.sky.com/story/covid-liv...eaths-12184764 |
