No. The clapping thing is old. It was after the first week or so really. All the NHS staff I know, bar one, hated it and felt it was hugely patronising too. Said what help really, is a bunch of people gathering on their doorsteps (sometimes having street parties too!) clapping and banging pans. They could have done with practical help, rather than people trying to make themselves feel good by joining in with the random trend and feeling great about it, while judging those who didn't feel it was something deathly important to do each week..

The clapping parties that overtook London streets and bridges and outside hospitals and that, with clearly no distancing had me totally baffled also tbh. Yet pointing out how counterproductive that was, got you labelled an uncaring NHS hating monster
