Default England's local elections to go ahead in May, but bring your own pen

[Local elections will go ahead in England in May
with councils being given an extra £30m
to make polling stations and counts COVID-secure.
Voters will be asked to bring their own pens or pencils
to fill in their ballot papers,

while the wearing of face coverings will be made
compulsory in polling stations.

Hand sanitiser, divider screens, and
social distancing markers will also be
provided at polling stations,
while new measures to reduce travel
for potential candidates when completing
their nomination forms will be introduced.]

I wonder how many will forget to take a pen?
This has been held back for 2 years.

Makes sense to bring your own pen or pencil.

You still have to get a ballot paper to mark with that pen or pencil.

Tbh It’s not very different to picking up something in a supermarket, the virus doesn’t last very long on paper so as long as the ballots are stored for a few days and not touched they should be virus free, sanitise your hands after voting ...polling stations usually have their doors open as well and my one is never very busy at any rate

Yes, you're right Cherie.
I'm afraid I've got rather paranoid a little this last year.

I always wear gloves anyway too.

Actually they'll be really interesting to see as to turnout.
I mean they're really poor as to turnout usually, I can't see that improving.
