I think there should be a blanket ban for this summer unless vaccination is really ramped up in Europe/Turkey, pointless going through all this lockdown pain if they are going to throw open borders again, the SA variant is the one rising in France

Oh this exact thing. Me and Karl are looking for a cottage holiday in the UK. Some of the prices are ridiculous. We are hoping to go mid April.

Also the numpties protesting all over the place about lockdown isn't helping, I don't know why the government bother tbh, people are just flouting the rules all the time and sod everyone else ,selfish people.

I'm going to Southend on April.
Going in the morning and coming back in the evening.
It's not allowed to stay in hotels yet.

Hopefully they will stop. Lockdown is ending in a week.

i thought it was crazy when people were busy booking holidays abroad in February. I would love to head abroad and soak up some rays, but it's not sensible until the world settles down. It's bad news for the tourist hotspots, but we have to sort this out for the long term

I don't understand why people think it's ok , I remember hearing not long ago about people having to cancel flights due to lockdown . What exactly did they expect ? . And as usual people want to still go abroad / travel despite everything . Why can't people just wait .
