Never mind resisting. Don’t try and run over/ attempt to kill a police officer.

Reminds me of the Andrew Harper case. Shame he could shoot those 3 scumbags and saved himself

...very, very tragic and very, very difficult for his family and loved ones to accept because it’s a loss that should never have happened...and ironically so close to the courthouse while Derek Chauvin’s trial is ongoing...the weight, the feel etc of a taser would be completely different to that of a loaded weapon so that type of panic and misjudgement would surely lead to her job in the police force not being possible to continue but that man’s life can never be given back so the heightened emotions are not easily going to diminish...

It looks like they were trying to cuff him and then when the female officer intervened he jumped in the car to try and get away...it looked like she grabbed what she thought was the taser from her colleagues belt...I might be wrong but maybe thats where the confusion came in.
Just another terrible waste of life. Why did he try and get away?...if he hadn't he would still be alive today.

...she’s a veteran officer with 25yrs service and presumably an honourable record of service so far...for her to have panicked like she did, doesn’t really fit so I hope that her mental well-being and stress levels atm receive much attention and that investigations are widely focused and not just on her, on those responsible for her as well because a man has lost his life, a family’s world has been shattered and should she ever have been out on public duty, did no one see any possible fragility in her mental health...

the fundamental problem is that they have a choice of weapon to deploy. I can understand how it could have been a mistake in the heat of the moment, but they shouldn't be in a position where that mistake is a possibility because human error does happen

...mental health is so important to focus on anyway but in an institution such as the police force, it really has to be such a priority because one human error can equal a human life and many, many shattered worlds...

...with a veteran service as she had, why....the difference in weight/feel/size etc of the weapons would have been instantly familiar with...why the panic is what needs to be looked at so closely...

...in 25yrs of police duty, she’s hasn’t encountered a black 20yr old, that’s quite doubtful, Arista...what was the reason for a veteran police officer to panic and not realise she was using the wrong weapon...

Just thinking of this, in order to shoot the good she would have to have removed the safety something that a taser doesn't have so how can she say she didn't know?

Yes it happened fast
She was in a panic.

All he did was sat back down.

He had no weapon.

Releasing the Police body cam video fast
was wise.
But the police chief is no longer
in charge of Kim Potter

Oh yeah, giving them less funding will really help improve their training

The police have ridiculous funding and most of it goes on weapons and equipment they don't really need. People really need to understand that 'defund the police' doesn't mean what they want it to mean. If they put some of those funds towards training, people wouldn't want them defunded. The US police has ridiculous budgets and most of it is mishandled.

If the phrase can be so easily misunderstood, it's ineffective - especially if it can be willfully misinterpreted.

Anything can be wilfully misinterpreted by people who want to misinterpret it. People choosing to be ignorant is not the fault of others who are making a valid argument, silly logic.
