the hospitalisations and more serious ventilator cases are dropping consistently. That eventually knocks on to number of deaths. So, at the moment, we have relaxed restrictions a bit and we are still within acceptable bounds, which ... given we have not been truly locked down for weeks, can only be as a result of the vaccine

Netherlands: relaxing of measures step 1 April 28th

1) terraces open, 1 household you can have 3 people, but if not from same household just 1 other person, in total 50 people allowed on terraces

2) end of the curfew

3) no more going to shops on appointment, but still only few people allowed in the store per square inch

the 538 kings day party has been cancelled, now all focus on eurovision if we should cancel audiences there too and only live performances for the tv viewers and delegations in green room

fieldlab test events like Efteling theme park can go through for time being

i agree with one of our music producers Ronald Molendijk on late night talk show here, he said our health minister De Jonge needs to step up and say the fieldlab test events are also our way out of the corona lockdown and towards more freedom what the anti-lockdown people want too, more freedom and this test event thing is your way towards some more freedom with just few simple rules to follow

cancelling audiences is not because the dangers with audiences but otherwise we have rioting outside the venues, it is those rioters their fault they should shut up and be silenced, so if it must then no one of public can have fun because of those rioter scum out there

Yup. Really not understanding the (many seemingly) people who keep trying to make out the falls are down to lockdown, not the vaccine. Its pretty obvious its the bloody vaccine given timelines. And it was always going to be the case that 'the way out' was a vaccine, not lockdowns. The lockdowns were for the health systems to cope, while waiting for a vaccine..

Netherlands: another relaxing of measures

more people welcome at funerals, total of 100 people as of April 28th, currently that total is at 50 people

parliament has decided the fieldlab test events won't go through or paused when ICU's are occupied with more than 900 covid patients

also physical education will be allowed again in Uni's

But we've started to open up since March and the situation is still good.
Vaccination definitely helps to control the virus.

School opened 9th March and by your own admission they were far more students than first lockdown between Jan and March

Church’s and Mosques didn’t close at all this time round in England at any rate

Garden Centres were open, Maccy Ds which closed in first wave were open

So numbers still fell though it was far busier than in the first wave

Bound to be an uptick, it’s whether it translates into hospital admissions and deaths is the question

My point is schools were back in after the Easter holiday break ... along with many businesses reopening last week ..

Both together along with the Indian strain MAY push the figures up somewhat over the coming weeks ...

there is absolutely no evidence of hospitalisations going up. Do you remember at the end of the mini lockdown last year, where infections shot up from the schools being open. Thats where we were with the new uk variant. Since the vaccine rolled out there has been no evidence of that happening again, the direction has continually been downward
