…I have to say that I’m most definitely not a huge horror/zombie fan so it’s probably just the right ‘hardcore’ for me….eeeek….but yeah, I understand…looking at some reviews, I think that your thoughts align mostly with others and I’m probably a minority of one who liked it…… |

…The Devil Below….and …The Intruder….
…they were both not bad movies but not really outstanding in any way, though… just Sunday evening viewing and I would probably say around 6/10 for both… |

Willy's Wonderland
A guy damages his car running over a spike strip and cannot afford the repair bill, a local businessman offers to pay for the repairs in exchange for the man cleaning out an abandoned family restaurant called Willy's Wonderland. But Willy's has an ominous past... I was looking forward to this and I found it just okay really. Nothing really stood out for me to mention it being good or bad. Nicholas Cage stars and doesn't speak a single word iirc. The deaths are meh and mostly bloodless and the 'killer' is far from scary. I think the highlight was probably Beth Grant as the Sheriff or the actress playing the character of Liv. Everyone else felt like cannon fodder.

…Gone Baby Gone….just a really seedy and dark and murky world of a young child with no safeguarding at all…a world that too many children are sadly born into…but also some smart twists and turns etc with a great cast…Michelle Monaghan is becoming a huge favourite actress……Amy Maddison, Morgan Freeman, Ed Harris all wonderfully cast as well……

…The Invitation……this was such a powerful movie and so incredibly absorbing, incredibly sad and emotionally traumatic in so many ways and ….I’m not sure what else to say because I won’t give any plot away obviously….I don’t know how to ‘rate’ it, I guess it would be classed as horror genre…

Aquaslash A graduating class organize an 80's themed party at a local Warter Park. Things quickly go terribly wrong. Spoiler: 3/10 Great White A pair of seaplane operators along with their passengers take a flight to picturesque Hell's Reef. Upon landing they find a corpse that has washed up after a suspected shark attack. Attempting to rescue any Survivors they find themselves at odds with a giant great white shark. Spoiler: 8/10 The Wolf of Snow Hollow A small Utah town is terrorized by a werewolf as a sheriff's deputy begins to break down from the stress of investigating the series of brutal murders in his sleepy ski community. A worker exposes that the US were deliberately trying to start and cause a war in Iraq. It was very slow. I fell asleep |

…Fear Street Part 1: 1994….…. Shadyside, killer capital of the USA..a Stranger Things slashertime edition…slasher type movies really aren’t my thing at all and there were bits that I didn’t watch in the detail but this was soooo deliciously throwback to so many movies, I loved it, it was like a crazy Halloween night of classics released in one cauldron….I can’t wait to see how the trilogy all connects with the other two parts…a brutal and slashing but fun 8/10….

…Nocturne…really enjoyed this twin sibling rivalry/competitiveness and the gruelling life devotion to becoming great musicians …maybe not quite as harrowing as Whiplash but very similar in vibe…and a twins version, so another layer to the story…I’m not quite sure that it quite reached the heights of ‘horror’ though and I think that it was meant to…but it was quite intense and enjoyable for a rainy Sunday afternoon….7/10…
