It actually explains a lot about a kid in my daughter's class. My daughter came out as gay about 10 months ago and decided to tell her class (at which point, half the girls in the class declared themselves either gay or bi ) and literally no one has had an issue with it. A little bit of typical misogyny from some of the boys but mostly because they're trying to be edgy/it amuses them, none with any actual problem with it, she's literally experienced zero bullying which I think is quite amazing really...

...except there's one kid in the class, who moved over from Poland about 3 years ago, and he has taken major issue with it. And in a sort of weird way. His stance has essentially been, "I don't care who is or isn't gay that's your business but I want everyone to stop talking about it, I don't want to hear anyone mention it again, or any other gay stuff." and he's actually at times apparently got himself really angry/worked up/screaming/shouting about it.

It actually makes quite a bit of sense, based on what that article says is a common attitude in Poland... which is essentially, "do what you want in private but we don't want anyone acting gay or saying gay stuff in public".

So I can only imagine it's an inherited attitude from a parent. His dad looks like a dodgy **** to be honest and his parents split not long after moving here, suddenly and dramatically, with small-village rumours of domestic abuse, so I wouldn't be surprised if his dad has these opinions.
