Starmer is saying Boris can't make any statements yet because he hasn't yet seen the data. The interviewer then pointed out that Starmer was criticising Boris and suggesting alternative approaches without having seen the data ... pot, kettle, black

so many negative nannies on LBC

a woman just now says she was coming home from the shops and she dropped her mask and she was "terrified to walk home without one"

not sure how you can deal with crazies like her

the media have been scaremongering constantly for 18 months, it's no surprise it has affected the confidence of a great many people.

I don't know about anyone else, but getting the first jab was like removing a great weight, after the 2nd it was bliss. I'm going out and enjoying myself. That doesn't mean i lose all common sense, it just means i can do things that improve my quality of life and take my own responsibility for my health like i have always done

Generally happy with the announcement but it is going to lead to a big rise in cases so if they're keeping the isolating rules that's going to become a nightmare with so many people having to needlessly isolate, could be situations where whole workforces are repeatedly having to do so in places like retail and hospitality etc

You shouldn't have to isolate if you're double jabbed or can repeatedly display negative tests imo

Watching the announcement update ,was once again mixed messages and irresponsible.

Basically mask wearing and social distancing will be gone/ optional, yet somehow he's still telling us to be careful of Covid. But yet he's the one who gave July 19th as "freedom Day" .

Every time Boris and his cronies talk , it just sounds like jibberish that they're trying to make up on the spot.

the theory is that the cases will peak out and then fall in the run up to autumn. In countries with minimal restrictions, the infection rate just went down on it's own naturally. Of course if a new super variant comes along all bets are off, but i think it's right we let things level out themselves and see how it goes

Radio I was listening to earlier has started going on about deaths and hospitalizations being low because of the vaccine success (After a week of saying nhs is struggling again, apparently)...but long covid. It's amazing how they switch like that.

Then presumably rise naturally in winter again, like what we expected last year? Seems at this stage all we can do is be prepared and keep an eye on things really. It's here forever, and will continue to mutate also, as viruses do really.

I thought I just heard them say you don’t have to self isolate if you’ve had two jabs - if you’re a close contact ..
