I suspect they’re thinking on city commutes LT, not a wee jaunt in Fife. It’s more “Crotch to arse” than “empty carriages”.

yes, but tfl have now made it a requirement of travel, but they are pretty much alone in it because no-one else is enforcing it

Two-thirds of adults in the UK are estimated to have received both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, latest figures show.

PM Boris Johnson hailed the milestone on Twitter, as it was confirmed a total of 35,155,767 second doses have now been delivered since the vaccination rollout began in December last year.

That is the equivalent of 66.7% of all people aged 18 and over.

Of the four nations of the UK, Wales has the highest proportion of adults fully vaccinated, with 73.8% estimated to have received both jabs (1,861,700 second doses).

England is next on 66.5% (29,429,018 second doses), followed by Scotland on 65.7% (2,914,904 second doses) and Northern Ireland on 65.4% (950,145 second doses).

The latest figures, which have been published by the UK's four health agencies, also show that an estimated 87.4% of UK adults have now received a first dose of a vaccine - though the rate of vaccinations has been slowing in recent weeks.

Default Coronavirus Outbreak

So that leaves about 30 million NOT fully protected..

So ‘in theory’ if the daily infections rate figures do indeed hit 100,000 per day )as per government predictions )then we could hit that 100,000 figure every day for over 10 months

Son and his wife went to Spain yesterday, they had been in Amsterdam.
Meeting her 3 kids and their dad last night when they flew in from America.
I think they are meant to be there for a month, they planned to spend time in France but that is a no-no.

It’s ok people ... apparently... because deaths are low .

Only 49 people died today .. someone will be in soon to say that 50 people died by falling out of taxis so it’s all relative

they estimated a week ago that the daily infections would be > 50k per day by the 19th when restrictions were removed and that is going to be the ball park. Its not just england that are relaxing restrictions, all the 4 nations are, it's a gamble on vaccination protection.

We know that if hospital admissions go above 2k per day they will need to put the breaks on, so i give it about a month after we remove restrictions. However, many have been saying for many months now that it is the schools that drive infections upward, so if the numbers start to come down next week when the schools break up in england, it will pretty much prove the point and then it becomes a moral issue on vaccinating kids, and I wouldnt want to be the one making that decision

yes, 100k at its peak was an estimate, but they also expected 50k a day by monday, which will probably be a bit light.

There may be pressure on some hospitals, but there have been no covid admissions in my area in more than a month, so there is plenty capacity
