ICU’s are nowhere near what they were like at winter peak or first peak, but Covid admissions have been steadily increasing.

This is direct from ICU and HDU staff both north and south of the border (my wife knows people in a wide circle within NHS staff).

The biggest problem hospitals have been facing is staff absence - so overwhelmed due to staff/patient ratio and lack of staff, rather than volume of patients. I think they recently changed to isolation rules for frontline NHS staff to tackle that, though?

vaccinated people should still wear face masks, or stick to social distancing

and negative testing policies should also remain

i've heard on our news here, how vaccinated people can still carry and spread the virus

----------------
i myself think this is very possible yes, and also i myself had read the vaccines doesn't work for all people, also some cases where some aren't protected

Netherlands will donate 745.000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to countries whom cannot afford to buy vaccines themselves and whom are far behind in terms of vaccine rollout

other vaccines whom are no longer necessary in Netherlands, go into the Covax program of WHO

i'm not sure why they are pushing this requirement for clubs etc. We know vaccinated people can still get covid and spread it, so in an enclosed stuffy environment people will still catch it easily. I just don't get the logic

There is no logic. Pretty much all of the rules have had no logic. Of course vaccinated can still catch it. But they would prefer people to have vaccines rather then PCR tests that confirm they are negative

There is a lot of very confusing stuff going on.

Things like the euros can go ahead and we saw the crowds with the lack of social distancing and masks
but its too dangerous for parents to watch school sports days

We have seen the rich and powerful go on to do what they want isolation wise. Cough cough Kate Middleton. But if our phone pings then we have to isolate and kids being told on their last few days of school that they have to isolate. It was pretty much all of the schools in my area nearly every single year group. Seems a bit of coincidence to me. We had an email through on Saturday to say someone in my daughter's year has tested positive. They won't say what class it is. My daughter should be missing her first week of the summer holidays isolating. Not a chance!

Now we are told we have freedom. What we have isn't freedom. What we have is a bit of a breather while the gov decide what rules the poor should be entitled to

Yes, but it still gives you very strong protection.
Even if you catch it you're less likely to end up in hospital

but youngsters have never had a real risk of being in hospital, it's a pointless exercise

according to JVT and his shed if you pack it with vaccinated people and then with unvaccinated you get two different outcomes

it reduces the risk of transmission, but it's still going to be a spreading event

euro's had to have audiences, otherwise countries would've gotten huge fines by UEFA
