There are around 500 Jews in Northern Ireland, give or take, and not all of them will follow a strict Kosher diet . I know I don't, I don't eat pork or shellfish etc. but I eat meat that is not Kosher, but ethically slaughtered.

There are over 2000 Muslims in NI, they're being very quiet... although Halal slaughtered meat us used in lots of the fast food giants in the UK... we've all probably eaten probably Halal without knowing it.

During WW2 my paternal family couldn't get Kosher meat. They'd swap stuff with their neighbours... bacon for cheese, etc. and I bet every Jewish house had Florence Greenberg's Jewish cookery book... Jews are resilient. They've had to be.
