In Scotland when you want to know where someone is from you ask

"wher do yoo stay?"

and if you reside in say Cumbernauld

you reply "am fae Cummernold"

if you reside in Auchtermuchty

you reply "em fae Muchtay"

and so forth

7 weeks off but we both work remotely when we're in Scotland at my in-laws.
We plan on going in August but we must quarantine (because Boris is so nice, he opened up the borders for everybody except for people living in France even though we're fully-vaccinated)
When the baby will come, we'll stay in France for some time and will try to split our time differently.

…our nice Boris has got some French noble ancestry, I believe…he’s descended from a family of de Pfeffel’s ….although when we refer to him we don’t actually pronounce it that way that you probably do…our pronunciation is less eloquently French and a bit more rough around the edges…but we do sometimes use lots of hand gestures when we refer to him, which is very French…

…how excited you and your families must all be for the arrival of your gorgeous baby …

Ayrshire of course you can just turn into one word:

“Amfayrshur”

If you are common.

I am not so I say “I grew up in Ayrshire but I haven’t been back since I was 18, because it is a ****hole”.

Yeah but since Scotland said they will follow what England has decided, we're in the same predicament.

We don't claim any ancestry with him
Thanks for the sweet words darling

Also, to go back on the TIBB meet up thing, it was discussed 10 years ago I think and most people said it would be either a disaster or an orgy I think some members met, can't remember who.

I mean I guess Arran is technically in North Ayrshire, it's quite nice...

To be fair if we're ever driving through, the miles of flat green fields and being able to see right over to the sea is quite nostalgic, it's a view you don't really get elsewhere in Scotland. But anywhere actually inhabited?

It's great! The landscapes are beautiful, so relaxing and timeless.
Also, the Scottish Dark Sky Observatory is a fun place to go to.

The immediate south of ayrshire is delightful as well, take port patrick for instance..

A true hidden gem.

Joking aside, well I was half joking, I pretty much live in the Cotswolds... What a small world.

We have recently explored the west coast down in D&G, I have to admit I think it's overlooked in terms of exploring Scotland, most people seem to head straight for Glasgow or Edinburgh and then just head north. The drive north is stunning obviously, especially up the west, but we've done that dozens of times so we decided to "go west"... ended up in a little cove beach with views over to Ireland and caught the sunset. Lovely stuff.

Also we got our dog from a farm in the middle-of-nowhere D&G but that was a bit "The Hills Have Eyes"... there was literally NOTHING out there, just fields and hills. I was 50/50 on if we were going to find a puppy at the end of the trail, or be kidnapped and eaten.
