Take labour for example.
They had all off prime ministers question time to drill johnson on the latest covid stuff, but they spent most the time pushing this false agenda of boris seemingly leading britain into some sort of nazi germany. Absolutely ridiculous, to say the least Snp wernt much better, making a joke before attempting a serious point That rotund blokes a right dick, like.. |

Twitter says UK 'by far' main origin of racist posts after Euro 2020 final Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka were abused after missing penalties in England's Euro 2020 final defeat against Italy; Twitter says the UK was 'by far' the largest country of origin for the abusive tweets that were removed Well now...

…I’ll do my article as well anyway….
Majority of Euro 2020 racist abuse came from UK accounts and 99% were not anonymous, says Twitter… Twitter has said that "the UK was - by far - the largest country of origin" for racist abuse sent to England footballers following the team's loss in the Euro 2020 finals on 11 July. The social media company added that 99% of the accounts which it suspended over the abuse were not anonymous, although it did not disclose how many accounts were suspended. It follows suggestions by England manager Gareth Southgate that much of the abuse was originating from abroad. Following the tournament, Southgate described the abuse as "unforgivable" and said: "I know a lot of that has come from abroad. People that track those things have been able to explain that. But not all of it [has come from abroad]." Twitter's data stands in contrast to that from the UK Football Policing Unit which said that of 207 social media posts deemed to be criminal, 34 came from accounts in Britain and 123 in other countries. As of 5 August, police had arrested 11 people aged between 18 and 63 in connection with the abuse of England players following the Euro 2020 final in Wembley. Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka were particularly targeted by racist social media posts after missing penalties against Italy. Of the people arrested, three live in London and two in Christchurch, Dorset. The others are from Runcorn, Cheshire; Sale, Greater Manchester; Folkestone, Kent; Reading; Shrewsbury and Worcester. Before the finals, back in April, players and clubs boycotted social media entirely to protest the levels of abuse aimed at people in football. Two major requests were made of social media platforms, firstly that: "Messages and posts should be filtered and blocked before being sent or posted if they contain racist or discriminatory material." And secondly that "all users should be subject to an improved verification process that (only if required by law enforcement) allows for accurate identification of the person behind the account". In a blog post published on Tuesday, Twitter argued "that ID verification would have been unlikely to prevent the abuse from happening". The company said this was because "the accounts we suspended themselves were not anonymous. Of the permanently suspended accounts from the tournament, 99% of account owners were identifiable." Twitter said that it removed 1,961 abusive tweets during the final and in the days that followed using automated tools, with just 126 removed following reports from users. Only 2% of these tweets had generated more than 1,000 impressions - something the company shared as an indication of its efforts to "quickly identify and remove racist, abusive tweets targeting the England team". Twitter added: "Racist behaviour does not reflect the vast majority of people who use Twitter to participate in vibrant conversations about football in the UK. "Critically, the word 'proud' was used more often on the day following the final than on any other day this year, as people expressed their support for the England team." https://uk.yahoo.com/news/majority-e...122800757.html |

I honestly think this country in general has really lost it's marbles since David Cameron got elected for his first term. And the fact that so many people racially abused three Footballers for missing penalties is just showing what kind of society has been molded by our current Government.

Some proper xenophobic race baiters on this page
Just angry because the United Kingdom is the most tolerant country on planet Earth. That fact gets them so angry. They're the same kind of people that scream "Palastine for the Palestinians" and cheer that on but would call anyone who said "Britain for the British" a racist bigot. And you don't fully grasp the meaning of racism.
You think a verbal insult is racism, it isn't, it's a verbal insult, where nobody is oppressed or physically attacked for the colour of their skin, they're just insulted. |

That's cool, but it still doesn't change the fact you don't know what xenophobe means.

What it would do is it would add more value to people's accounts and make them think twice about what they could post, as it would be easier to ban people without them coming back with a new account. |

I always wondered about this. The reason for the vast majority of the abuse was because england lost, and the only people that cared that england lost were english. I wouldn't even say UK, because I don't think any Scottish, Welsh or Irish would be upset at all by the defeat. Quite the opposite

So, this post by you was done to verbally insult me. The comments towards those players would have been done to verbally insult the players. Same crime (well, crime in your book)
Freedom of speech includes freedom to verbally insult. There should be zero privliged, hierarchy when it comes to who can and cannot be verbally insulted. Last edited by Alf; 10-08-2021 at 07:46 PM. |
