Default Anticipation or the actual event?

Are you one of those people who prefer the anticipatory excitement/build-up to a landmark event (e.g., Christmas, the weekend) or do you prefer the actual event?

Always the build up, the actual event always goes by too quickly usually ie Christmas/Birthdays.

And weekends (they go by way too quickly).

The build up to Christmas especially always feels a bit stressful and a chore but i do enjoy it somewhat, and of course the day itself as then it feels like a reward for everything .

Everyone enjoys the Christmas buildup more than the day, surely. That’s the real fun of it. The day is just sort of a “full stop” on the season… I personally go completely humbug on the 26th and take down all the decorations
