I just don't think Labour are relevant today

I mean they are still calling each other comrade like its the 1970s

the country has moved well ahead of that party and it needs disbanding and a new party formed with better ideas and not just BS pie in the sky idealism and no union ties.

There's always been problems with the different positions in Labour.

It settles down eventually.
Although I don't think Starmer is the one to unite Labour.

For a major reason.
He stood and canvassed on the manifesto of 2019.
In fact the Brexit position was what he was the architect of In a major part.

Even as far back as Harold Wilson, an old Lady neighbour of mine, told me there were those who supported George Brown, who often caused problems for Wilson as leader.

I still say, Andy Burnham for me.
It was a mistake not to elect him in 2010 and then again not to in 2015.

I wouldn't be so sure however that the voters will stick with this heartless shower much longer.

A winter with much higher energy bills, then NI hitting in April, not forgetting inflation starting to hit prices across the board.

Winters of discontent don't get forgotten easy no matter the government.
As Heath found in 1974 and Labour found in 1979.

My own mantra now, if Starmer was to embrace PR as the members want and listen to a growing number of his MPs too.
Then he could, I think romp home in an election.
He'd attract likely those too who don't usually vote, who want their votes to really count.

'Making ALL voters votes, ALL really count'.

The Cons would be in total panic and disarray if Labour adopted PR.

Maybe next year's conferences could bring a major shake up and surprise I think.

To be fair it's mostly the nutters and irrelevancies who talk about "comrades" and related idiocy.

I'm sooo glad even the tabloids are seeing through the bullcrap. I mean, a bombastic and self-congratulatory speech like that one might have been good if his government was doing great for the country. But they aren't, so hopefully "Joanna and Michael" won't be swayed by selected highlights.

(I've not seen the full speech, just a couple of highlight reels)

Though protecting green spaces is a good pledge. It's quite sad how many crappy little estates have sprung up in the fields around here...
