Possibly.

I have a bit of flu, and rang in sick, so they said I need to do a Covid test and keep them updated everyday. I said "how do I do one?" and all they said was "you do it online"

just google, order lateral flow tests and follow the link. They take a couple of days to arrive.

Bloody mess around and loss of wages for a bit of a bug. I'd have gone in work, I only have a sore throat and a bit of headache.

Why not get to a PCR walk-in centre ?
They could give you immediate clearance to go back to work if it’s negative

I've just rang my mother and she's gonna do that for me tomorrow.

I haven't lost my sense of smell and I haven't got a cough, so I'm fairly sure it's not Covid.

My sons been really poorly with a cold....bad head, sore throat and cough. He's negative for covid but I know loads of people who are being floored by a cold.

Yeah, flu season is upon us, so they'll be be people who get the flu like there has been every year.

The problem with these Covid tests are that they've be known to produce false positives. So I don't trust them right from the start.

I'd just like to go back to, you have a bit of flu for a couple of days or so, and then you go back to work when you feel better, it was much simpler in the old World.
