To slow, the modern day journalists are the people with phones. They're there to catch the action live on video as it happens, and they can post it to the World instantly.

As "The Jam" once said "This is the modern World"

Out of context and sometimes completely falsely though… you can’t trust a social media narrative any more than a mainstream press narrative. You have to piece together the truth from various sources and what seems realistic/logical.

Remember at the start of Covid when Social Media was full of videos of people “collapsing in the street” in Wuhan… which were found to be from years earlier and of random things like people having heart attacks.

Easy to show something out of context with a sentence saying “This is what you’re seeing here…” and have gullible people buy into it.

Leslie Hans
was at the Gig
he is on CNN HD Live.

He says the show was very rowdy
because it was not on last year.
He did not see the Crush
he found it strange, that so many kids were there,
under age.

Social media videos are the worst for twisting a narrative as they can be edited to show whatever the poster wants with zero accountability

Yep, and sometimes not even edited… all that’s often needed is cutting off ten seconds at the beginning that gave context, and adding in a new context below - “This happened after ______”. Then you see a longer video and the events leading up to the video are completely different to what was suggested.

I know, I ain't a moron. But the point I was making in that post to Arista was that social media is faster at getting the news out there than Reuters.

Also, your average person with a phone doesn't claim to be the truth that everybody should take notice of when infact they're manipulative and dishonest and only push an agenda because they're paid a lot of money to, like the people in the MSM do, and they don't cover things up, it's all out there.

At this point, it's controlled media vs the rest of us, they're no longer providing the service they're supposed to for us.

at least 90% of your issues with the media are with american media which has always been subject to lesser standards than here in the uk. I do agree that the msm shouldn't be followed like a sheep, they do come out with an amazing amount of ****e, but it's up to individuals to find sources that they trust and verify them against other trusted sources. The issue is actually the gullibility of readers more than anything else

Nah, my issues with the media is more in this country although it's a problem in America too although America does have alternative news networks unlike us.

But it's our media that covers up child grooming gangs whilst at the same time calling us all racists. It's our media that shows obsessively a few morans protesting the climate while it deliberately doesn't cover 10s and 100s of thousands of citizens protesting government Covid mandates. Our media is corrupt as can possibly be.

I disagree with that actually, the vast majority of the time if someone is recording things and posting it on social media, they have an agenda. The agenda isn’t money but is usually their political or social leanings and wanting to “prove a point” that convinces people to see the world their way… just as toxic and dishonest as doing it for profit tbh.

So what's new? You disagree with almost everything I have an opinion on.

But it's our job to sieve through the bullish!t to get to the facts. We can only do that by talking about it and learning from each other. Between us all, we can quickly work out what is fake and what stands up. The problem seems to be people afraid to talk about certain things, basically self censoring themselves when infact they have the freedom to speak and the law is on their side on that.
