[Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe's husband has
ended his three-week hunger strike
after making a promise to his imprisoned wife.

Richard Ratcliffe has been camped
outside the Foreign Office in London
for the past 21 days as part of his
long-standing campaign for his wife's
release from Iranian prison.]

Its a Long waiting Game
you wasted 21 hard days.
Sadly.

Iran wants the Money back
they paid for Tanks and Weapons (Late 1970's)
but they never got delivered (Iran had the Revolution)
& did not get the Cash back.

The price has gone UP
Iran wants the Interest on that Cash.

Now Johnson could be scared to pay it back
breaking the USA sanctions etc.

I would pay all the Money back
in secret.

The money to which they refer was paid by the Shah's government for tanks. Then, before any tanks were delivered, Iran was taken by coup and fell to the Islamists who have done their best to drag the country back to the dark ages.

We should start repatriating Iranians in retaliation. I don't mean keep them in prison and treat them inhumanely like the Islamists do... simply start cancelling visas and send them home.

i'm sorry if it upsets people, but I don't think we know the full story about this lady. The money aspect is obviously a smoke screen, but everyone is protesting her innocence apart from Boris in his time as foreign secretary who implied she was anything but innocent.

I think the iranians could have let her go, but, underneath it all they may have some justification that is not being made public. Don't always believe the narrative that is being fed to everyone

Yes he has said sorry for that.

Once the UK does pay the Cash back
she can be released and sent home
having served enough time.

He should NEVER have implied it especially in relation to a Nation like Iran.
He was Foreign Secretary at the time, unbelievably so unfortunately.

Can Iran be trusted to release her, or not create something else to hold her on.

Should she even have ever been held hostage like anyway, for anything.
Her husband has had it seems just lip service from the government and the man who is now PM who only added to her plight in Iran with dangerous and careless comments.

if she was spying, and Boris implied that she was, then it's no surprise that iran would lock her up. I firmly believe that facts are being withheld by the british government

I don't think myself she was spying in any capacity.

There's only one individual who has insinuated that and that is Johnson.

No other Foreign Secretary since, nor the then PM Theresa May supported his comment.

He wasn't on top of his brief in the job as Foreign Secretary, it's not the only error he made.
This was a very serious and dangerous uninformed comment to make.

He has sort of apologised for it and backtracked.
He was an absolute clown but dangerous clown in the Foreign office.
It won't surprise me some will try to cover for him as if he knew more than ANYONE else, including his then Leader and PM.

He is in some part, part of the reason this lady has suffered this imprisonment for so long.
Her child denied her Mum and her Husband being given lip service by Johnson and his Ministers too.

Their suffering is the main issue.
I won't waste my time making excuses for Johnson.

He's never been able to curb his rash and dangerous misinformed outbursts.
It's time he was actually made to take responsibility for making them.

SkyNews Feed:

[Now 16:54
PM: It breaks my heart that I can't promise
to bring Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe home for Christmas

Former foreign secretary Jeremy Hunt
asks about Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe,
an Iranian-British woman who remains
in house arrest in Iran.
Mr Johnson says he is not happy with
her still being in jail and says it is worth
considering bringing bags of cash over to
Iran to repay the debt the UK owes,
which Iran is said to be holding her over.

The PM says he has been in touch
with Nazanin and he is horrified
with her ordeal and has nothing
but admiration for the way she has dealt with it.

He says the government is working
as hard as they can to try to bring
her home for Christmas but it breaks
his heart that he can't make that promise.]

Iran Paid the UK
that money

in the 1970's
but then a Revolution changed the power

UK kept the Cash.

Yes well her Labour MP
confirmed her passport was returned to her
that is very welcome news,

The £400 million
1970 Iran Money
should have been paid back.
A deal very old.

[British-Iranian detainee Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe
has had her UK passport returned, her MP has said.
She has been detained in Iran for more than five years
on spying charges after being arrested there
in 2016 while taking her daughter to see her family.]
