When Corbyn pops off, I'm displeased that I won't get the chance to pay for the nails in his coffin.

Ok atleast you're being consistent Swan .But others still think it's ok for one and not ok for another which is hypocrisy.

And I think it was a bigger slap, and bigger kick in the face for people to pay for Thatcher's funeral. Considering she didn't give a damn about the poor or working class, people are still affected TODAY no thanks to her.

Atleast Meghan and Harry don't affect our lives, or increase gas & electricity prices . Or make cuts to services we essentially need.

That's true. But don't you think they have a bit of brass neck, quitting as Royals (fine, whatever) but then expecting the Taxpayer to fund their security for their visits back here? And considering the amount of money they've got. How can that possibly be defended and justified?

They want their cake and to eat it too, there's nothing else to it.

Harry has consistently said they would personally pay for the royal level security themselves though, so I can’t really see how people can say they just want to scrounge from the taxpayer

Yeah but they're still the Queen's family , nothing changes that. I think they just want stronger security especially now they have children to protect.

I'm not really that invested enough to care . But didn't Harry originally want to pay for security or something a while back? . Or am I thinking of something else .

Not that invested to care.....

No offence goldheart, I do enjoy your posts, and that is why I noticed that this and politic threads are the only ones you seem invested in, on TIBB.

Then they should let him pay for it and just get on with it all. As long as it doesn't affect the Taxpayer then who cares.

He was a member of the Royal family for long enough to know darn well that Royal level security from the Met police cannot be bought. His offer to pay was a cynical ploy to once again be seen as a victim.

So once again you prove that Harry can't win no matter what he does .
You know what he might aswell go around in the Riddler's outfit ,with a cane and smoke a pipe going "na na na I'm using tax payers money " .

Oh he could have won - he would have benefited from the high level security already around any occasion involving the Royal family which is good enough for them and all their children.
He and Meghan managed to attend the Invictus games in the Netherlands and a swift visit to the Queen in the VERY dangerous UK without high level Royal security.
But no, he had to make waves as usual. Tiresome self entitled little twerp.

it's not a matter of "cant win" the royal protection service simply is not available for hire, it's not a private business, so when he said he wanted to pay for it, it was said in the knowledge that the service could not be purchased. He is not that stupid

It's just an excuse when they don't want to come (they only want to come when the Netflix camera's can come with them .)
