[Protesters have marched over fears HS2
works could affect water supplies.]

[Colne Valley Viaduct, the UK's longest
railway bridge, will carry the new high-speed
rail line for 2.1m (3.4km) across a series
of lakes and waterways on the
north west outskirts of London.
Protesters in Uxbridge called on
Hillingdon Council to do more to
protect the local environment.

A HS2 spokesperson said they will
work throughout construction
to manage risks.]

Yes, they have moved homes out

Doubt it arista.

I expect even more excessive costs and more delays or cuts to it too.

Worse Now

I want Starmer to tell us his plan
for HS2.

[Let’s not forget the current iteration of HS2
goes absolutely nowhere useful.
No Euston.
No Birmingham New Street.
But from a glorified bus shelter in
West London to an inconvenient
location in Birmingham.

The time anyone saves from “high speed”
travel will be more than eaten into
getting to the respective city centres.
People will question why they didn’t
just use the West Coast Main Line
or Chiltern Line in the first place.]

Taken from Greg Smith
in the Telegraph.

Labour will not comment
until revised costs are known.

Conservatives will now only go as far as Birmingham
Cancelling going onto Manchester

Both Labour and Conservative
will not confirm it will go to Manchester.

This is because of lack of Funds

we shouldn't continue to pump money into a project we cannot afford. Just suspend it until we reach a point where it becomes feasible again. I don't know whats so terrible about that
