Default LBC claims Liz Truss using "Patriot" word is on the way to Fascism

The 10AM Live Show
with the Pathetic Left Winger

Thinks we are leading to Fascism?

He then admitted he had to give up his other job
on BBC Newsnight as he was told off for calling
Early Trump, Fascism.

The Same Topic
is on BBC2HD Early Politics Live
but they do not call it
Fascism at all.

It is all about the Northern Ireland Problem
of not allowing UK goods to them,

It's not really the use of the word patriot, it's the fact she was asked an intelligent question, and the fact she had absolutely no way to answer the question other than by resorting to the language of authoritarians.

We have a proto fascist government which can still be reversed with elections. If the tories win the next general, then there may not be free elections for a long time.

There's nothing wrong with the word patriot generally, it is however used frequently these days as a mask for something that is not really "patriotism" at all (ethnocentric jingoism).

How intellectually derelict would someone need to be to associate (non-extreme) patriotism with fascism?

The question wouldn't be surrounding the extremes or the clear examples though... it's that "fuzzy boundary area" in the middle where one becomes the other, the plausible deniability of claiming extreme nationalism to be simple patriotism, and vice-versa the branding of ultimately benign patriotic tendancies as fascism.

There inevitably MUST be a "tipping point" where the consensus flips from one to the other. Hard to point to exactly where that is, though. There will be wildly differing opinions.

There is a fair bit of modern confusion that patriotism = supporting the active government and government policy, which is of course not patriotism at all. A true patriot would strongly oppose any government that they feel is damaging their country. I think this is something that ultimately they DO seem to understand stateside but we struggle with here in the UK. "Not supporting Boris and the Tories" is viewed as unpatriotic...

Tbh with the way the UK media targets the Labour candidates, our elections are barely democratic.

Close to Parliament
He had fair warning to move away,

He can go to Court soon.

Even the BBC told him he was breaking the Law.

Exactly - I've not supported a single government from my life, because I feel patriotic, and these horrible crooks are ruining my country

I was always thankful to Blair and Labour looking back, without them i don't think myself and mum would of been housed and taken care of like we was when my dad up and left. Shame Blair turned out to be a dick in the end. As a centralist though, i'll always lean more left and will vote for Labour in the future im sure. I feel like Bojo and his lot are even worse than Cameron and co. Anyway....

Wouldn't say im patriotic, hate the monarchy in this country, but i am very thankful to this country at the same time. Not many better places to live in this world when you think about it.
