Manchester City have agreed a fee of 13 million euros (£11m) plus add-ons with Anderlecht for Spain Under-21 international defender Sergio Gomez.

City were looking at left-sided options after failing to complete a deal for Brighton's Marc Cucurella, who joined Chelsea last week for £62.5m.

It’s a crazy situation

Apparently he took a cut / low annual salary in the first year of Covid to help out the club
... so if he leaves he wants to get his £17 MILLION owed wages ...

The deal was that he took a short term pay cut in exchange for getting a deal of 25 million each year so he took Judd 4 million for that one season - his contract was extended to EIGHT years .

This deal was agreed by the previous corrupt president who is possibly still in prison ..

I can see why the club are asking him to agree to a sensible salary ( in line with the other players) OR just they won’t play him - forcing him out effectively
