One of the most important thing in my life is money and im allways careful of what i spend it on. My father sais that i shouldnt treat my money so preciously. Anyway my point is does money change people for the worse? If you was to come into money do you reackon you would change your attitude towards life?

Money Eh! well I think you are sensible to look after your money. Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves is what my dad always says.
I have always been cautious with money yet my hubby spends like it is going out of fashion given the chance. We kind of balance each other out. I think if I were to come into a life changing amount of money I would be careful with it for fear of losing it. I am not saying I wouldnt spend money just I am a worrier. |

I am a firm believer that money can not buy happiness, it can not buy manners and it can not buy love.
I have seen both sides to being wealthy, my parent split when I was very young, my father took his money with him and in those days the wife didnt get much so mum only received a fraction of what she would get if it was today. So, he had the carefree lifestyle and my mum scrimped and save.... barely having enough to live on. But it with my mum that I hold my precious memories with, we had all the fun and laughter and sadly my dad thought that you could buy love and control us. I'm 30 and I speak to my mum every day, and my dad about once a month! It depends on the person as to whether money would change them |

the love of money is indeed the route of all evil in most cases. I work for a living and the money I make I need to survive; like most people. if I am given the chance to make some more money; I shall gladly take that opportunity as (more is better than less) most would agree with that. we all know what money can bring to us. more holidays, nice house, new car, a better lifestyle generally. those are reasons enough to want more and more.
the problem is; many who do have plenty of money and all of those luxuries still want more money (as much as they can get). give them a house and they want a bigger house. give them a car and they want a better car; a newer model. give them a holiday and they are still looking to go somewhere better. give them a (million) and they want more money. it all comes down to greed. there is a saying; 1. those who have money don't want to spend it. those who don't have money; can't spend it because they don't have it to spend. this is what leads to a recession. most people like to keep money for a rainy day. that is what I do myself. I like to be in a position whereby if I need some money; then I have the funds in the bank to deal with any crisis. not saying I'm rich or anything; just careful with my spending habits. you never know what the british government could throw our way. petrol and gas and electric shall continue to rise; as will our weekly shopping bill. god knows what the next generation will be facing financially in life. I'd say; a life of financial struggle. many people spending less on non-essentials. many businesses will go bust and many shall lose their own houses. bankcruptcies shall follow; basically a future of doom and gloom for those who simply don't have the money to survive. but there will be plenty who shall survive quite easily. we all know where most money comes from anyway; 1. property 2. inheritance 3. divorce settlements I know a married couple who broke up and they are both seeing solicitors and trying to sort out a divorce settlement. his wife is really trying to squeeze him for as much as she can so she can have a better life with her new boyfriend; who will be more than happy to have some extra money come his way; as he is wealthy already. she will win; he told me. he also told me that love is blind and he will never be able to trust a woman again. next time he will sort out a pre-nuptial agreement like many of the rich celebrities do; bust most of us wouldn't go down that road. I don't think I could actually. one more saying; 1. a fool and his money is soon parted ain't that the truth. |

Again i agree with Kiz on this, I have been brought up with lots of love and happy memories. My parents lived from pay day to pay day so we could have things that we needed.
So im the same i dont panic if i only have a tenner in the bank a couple of days before pay day as long as my bills are paid and there is a roof with a nice home over mine and my families head im not bothered. Any real spare money i have i make sure we treat ourselves just like my parents did for us. At the end of the day the way i see it we cant take our money with us when we go and if my kids have the same attitude as i have i know that they will be ok when i go (GOD I SOUND MORBID) |

It certainly seems to bring out the evil in some people. Just look at that story this week of the woman who tried to kill her husband with antifreeze to get hold of 250k to pay off debts. Now he’s left partially blind and deaf.
You do wonder if people like that have any empathy at all. |

I think it does. I've come from a really privileged background and I've found myself over the years looking down on a lot of people, even when I don't mean to.
Money doesn't buy you happiness, in fact far from it. There have been many times when I've wished I didn't have any. I would love to live someone elses life for a week, and by that I mean someone who hasn't been as fortunate as I have. |

"Money doesn't buy you happiness" is just a lie rich people tell to stop poor people from rioting
![]() Though this is supposed to be a comic quote, I somewhat agree. I'm perfectly happy when I have money. Not happy when I'm broke. I just have friends anyway, so it's not like I need money to make me happy on top of it...but it just provides for some of the simpler pleasures in life...like shopping, good food/drink, clubbing, presents, services... |

It's the lack of money that is the route of all evil. If everyone had an endless supply of money then money related crime would be history.
Money cannot make you good or make you loved but it can buy you the best medical care available it relieves you of the worry of not having enough to satisfy your needs. Money is a tool which can be used to increase happines but like most tools it can also be abused hence the belief it is the love of money which is the root of all evil. Money like life is what you make of it. Treat it in a way that will pay you back in kind.... |

If there was an endless supply of money then jobs wouldn't get done and nobody would have any aspirations to better themselves.
