Default Low carb diet or Keto

Just wondering if anyone was well up on low carb and Keto diets ?!

A colleague is adamant that I should go on a Keto diet as it’s life changing ..

I’ve read up a bit and it said that Keto shouldn’t be done long term as it can be damaging !?

I’m wondering if I should start reducing carbs gradually before trying to get my daily carbs under 50g ??

I think the science is behind the fasting aspect of dieting.

I guess eating a lot of fats you need to watch your heart

Good quality food is key

Supposedly the ‘eat less fat ‘ drive was ill advised … as is all that low fat crap they try and force on us ..

Apparently you should eat MORE fats but dramatically reduce your sugar intake ..

Excess glucose gets stored in the liver as glycogen or, with the help of insulin, converted into fatty acids, circulated to other parts of the body and stored as fat in adipose tissue. When there is an overabundance of fatty acids, fat also builds up in the liver.

Low carbs would work better for me. I can't live without my spaghetti

I'm 12 stone down from three/four years ago from doing just that.

Get moving, eat sensibly and have a treat once/twice a week (I have Fish and Chips every weekend and occasionally a takeaway with mates once a week too).
