Default Hospice charity

So I’m on my local free cycle
Near me a lady was offering a large maple side board that would of easily cost 2000 new in perfect condition coming from a large house

So I messaged her to ask if she considered contacting the local hospice charity shop that sells furniture

She messaged back to say she had but they said it was to heavy.

So basically a charity is missing out on at least 300 because the blokes collecting are lazy bastards

I have had men from the British Heart foundation come to pick up furniture, I think they are generally volunteers and tend to be in their 60s and 70s, why dont you get in touch with the shop and offer to help bring it in?

I have actually seen their jobs advertised in the local paper with the ad saying must be physically fit as heavy lifting is involved.

I’ve actually purchased items from this shop and had them delivered the blokes are under 50 and they are employed not volunteering that’s why I’m pissed off.

Health and Safety, the charity could be sued if they hurt their backs

They may have a weight limit as to what two people can lift. There might also be a space issue as you say its a big piece of furniture.

I dont know what you are so angry about tbh, it is not really your business to tell others what they can and cant do

If I were you I would contact the charity shop and ask what the issue is, I can pretty much guarantee that it is a Health and Safety issue and also perhaps that this type of furniture is no longer that easy to sell, who has a sideboard these days?

If I were her I would have put it in an auction, you could take it and do that?
