This may seem cynical but I think they did it to make Bojo look good, if Rishi had got in he would have wiped the floor with Bojos legacy

There is just no way that this woman was the best person for the job and the vote was much tighter than we were lead to believe, with the media saying she would win by a landslide

Yes, I think you have hit on something there Cherie.
Honestly though she's hopeless.
Absolutely hopeless.

That should please me in my political position but at this time of crisis to have Truss in place is extremely worrying.
For me Penny Mordaunt would have been seen as far more competent with far less ministerial experience than Truss has had in the last decade.

However Sunak would have certainly been the better choice in my view too.
From even just his experience of the crisis of the pandemic.
To be fair I can't really fault much he did and set out to do as Chancellor during that crisis.

they had their say at the last election, it doesnt matter how many pm's there are. Both parties have taken advantage of that so it's not going to change

in a democracy, people are free to make their choice at the next GE. There is no law or precedent that dictates there must be a GE on a leader change.

I would have thought it sensible to get rid of a leader that is utterly incompetent and replace with a new one

In opposition yes.
However no way should the electorate be denied TWICE to have their say to approve a new PM.

Personally I think any change of PM while in government should have to seek his or her own mandate from the people within a year of the change.
Under any government that is too.

The only people who could vote for Johnson were those who live in his constituency.

Also, they didn't change PM twice within one government - the last election was in 2019, the PM "only" changed once since then.

That WOULD be changing PM twice in one governmental period.

Indeed the whole country doesn't vote in the party leaders constituency.

You can't have it all ways though.
In saying people in the red wall seats voted for Johnson.
Also saying people in those seats voted against Corbyn.

Of course the leader influences across the Nation how they vote as to how well any leader of a party is liked.
