Schedule
Quote:
Children in Need will officially take place at 7 pm on Friday, November 18, but fundraising events started long ago.

As in previous years, Children in Need will be screened on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, and see Graham Norton’s Big Red Chair make an appearance.

The night is set to be jam-packed with exciting performances, music, sketches and more.

Romesh Ranganathan will be hosting a special edition of the iconic game show, The Weakest Link. Bradley Walsh will host a very special children’s takeover of Blankety Blank, welcoming Maisie Smith and John Waite. Plus, The Repair Shop team will share a very special restoration story.

The Sir Terry Wogan Fundraiser of the Year Awards will see BBC Children in Need honour their supporters, with BBC Radio 2’s Michael Ball, OBE announcing the winners.

This year’s campaign is called Positive Relationships and focuses on the life-changing differences these relationships make in a child’s life.

Who will present Children in Need 2022?
The presenters of this year’s show are set to be Ade Adepitan, Mel Giedroyc, Chris Ramsey, Alex Scott and Jason Manford.

Talking about this year’s campaign, Positive Relationships, Jason Manford said: “This year’s Positive Relationshipscampaign is so important – we need to ensure that children have the basic essentials, like a hot meal and a warm home, and the support they need to be the best they can be.”

Returning presenter Chris Ramsey also commented on the matter: “Right now when the cost of living crisis is causing more children and families to feel anxious about their futures, money raised through BBC Children in Need’s 2022 Appeal will enable the charity to provide vital frontline support workers for children in communities across the UK.”

What to watch on TV
DIY SOS will be airing a special episode in Leeds as part of a Children in Need funded project called the Getaway Girls on Wednesday, November 16.

Nick Knowles and his team Chris, Jules, Billy and Gabrielle Blackman will build the charity's new building in Seacroft from the ground up with the assistance of a large group of volunteers in just nine days.

Blue Peter’s Matt Baker will be taking on a relay-style ride over five days along with five other young people travelling through their hometowns, and visiting places across the UK, which hold a particular significance for them along the way.

The Rickshaw Relay one-off documentary can be caught on BBC One on Tuesday, November 15.

The Great SPOTacular Appeal Night is back for 2022 on Friday, November 18, live on BBC1 and iPlayer. It is being presented by Ade Adepitan MBE, Alex Scott, Jason Manford, Chris Ramsey and Mel Giedroyc.

nope

cant stand it

Radio 2 is constantly banging on about Scott Mill's treadmill challenge

It could not be duller if they tried and the faux jeopardy and enthusiasm is excruciating

i havent watched any of these type of shows in years. I detest the constant begging for money and lets face it, we pay income tax and local tax exactly for this purpose

Maybe we just don’t pay enough tax…

I’d happily pay a bit mote if it meant a better life for everyone.. I’ve thought this since I was a young man .

Trouble is the extra tax paid would probably never make its way to the right ‘pockets’

even better, UK being back at Junior ESC after a withdrawal period of 17 years, and being more competitive than ever before now

that song you'll be hearing in this show Lose My Head, its first live performance, is co-composed by David van Day's daughter Amber van Day

no it isn't

it really is giving oldschool adult ESC vibes, lots of own language, lots of variety in terms of genres

and in recent years, not too many ''childish'' songs, but sometimes also quite some songs which can easily do decently in the adult contest

Freya's song definitely for me a really great pop song, very current, which you'd expect from one of todays current uk pop artists a la Dua Lipa or Ella Eyre

am looking forward to watching her first live performance from this show

Well, if you want to send a cheque to HMRC, they will cash it. Feel free.

But as you say, so much of taxpayer money is pissed up the wall, that people paying more taxes would mean very little. Send that cheque to organisations that do real help.
